Just got a laptop with a Core Duo 6400, nVidia 9600M and 3gb DDR2 memory.
Can anyone recommend any PC exclusive games to give it a shot with? I have a PS3/X360 and have generally played on that instead of PC for the past 5 years.
Was thinking Crysis... but the three copies on Usenet (RZR release) all report Viruses in the Keygen
Chances are the keygen is being picked up as a virus even though it's not.
It's called a falce possitive.
Happens all the time with keygens and even cracks.
You don't need to use it though, your friend google will no doubt find you a key no probs.

Strife (1996) - FPS with light RPG elements, some choices, dialogue with NPCs, cool weapons and an interesting story
Cybermage (1995) - even lighter RPG elements, although the level design ranges from mediocre to very good, it's one of the first FPSs to have driveable vehicles, there's even a cool city level with almost-interactive npcs, quests, there's a money system which allows to buy better weapons and you can gamble on gladiators. Plus the atmosphere is great.
Deus Ex (2000) - Need I say anything? Tons of ways to solve problems, amazing interactivity, lots of choices and consequences (albeit the main story is linear) and kickass writing. Be sure to get The Nameless Mod aswell. Avoid Invisible War like plague if you liked the first.
System Shock 1 & 2 (1994-1999) - Best Hybrids ever. Clever and comples gameplay, best atmosphere ever (the second is still today fucking scary), great AI (only 2) and the best villain ever.
No One Lives Forever 1 & 2 (2001-2004) - Great level design, good 50s setting a la James Bond.
Pathologic (2005?) - Not really an FPS, more of a survival adventure, but still so damn awesome you've got to play it

A mod that adds new textures and effects along with some minor changes to the game. Be careful though, because it will probably blow up your Acer.
Seriously, the Cordon level alone eats up almost 700 MB of VRAM (tried it on my desktop @ 1440x900 with an HD4890).
True.My 8800gt reached to 105 C degrees the past summer with the complete edition mod of stalker. Now goes maximum at 85 C with 15 C outside. So i recommend: Wait for winter
