I played number 2 many times with my friends, major fun. It's turn-based so you can do hot-seat multiplayer

Sorry to be the party pooper...but how can we know those screenshots look anything like the game? Kinda look like artists renderings..which usually end up looking nothing like the game. Were they in a respected russian game mag or something?

And btw wasn't Mistland developing both ja3d and ja3? What happened with that deal?

Sorry but it will take a bit more to get my hopes up. After all the dissapointments with continuing the jagged alliance legacy(except for modders with urban chaos and dl) its hard to believe anything will come of it. But still, I hope I am pleasantly surprised in the coming monthes with this and with the DS version of ja2 gold(crosses fingers).

Yes, the screens are scans from a VERY respected russian game mag (Game Navigator), who got the exclusive rights to take a first look at the game.

I've seen it in action too and I must that it really does look great. No parallax mapping or uber-nextgen FX but it's the good Silent Storm fully-destroyable environment + REALLY good artists + a serious engine facelift + good game design. The guys (scenario, mission desgin) have extensive knowledge about everything military, one of the being an ex-specnaz and there's also Richard Therrien (original JA/JA2 game designer) from Strategy First who's there to help.

Mistland was developing JA3 but Strategy First wasn't satysfied with what they were offering and the deal was broken and Akella got it.

Seems they missed some skilled professional graphic makers.

Screw graphics, I played JA2 again some weeks ago and I loved it as always! Even though the graphics are old there is still nothing better than bringing your mercs in position in and ontop of houses and enemies just running right in there...

Oh man I hope they don't mess it up like that one russian JA clone that got released about one year ago.

MistLand or GFI Russia or whatever they call themselves now have never made a good (or even decent) game, and thinking that will change just because they managed to get ahold of the JA license is setting yourself up for a pretty big disappointment. If only Strategy First had taken this game away from them like they did with Disciples 3. Sad

JA2+Build v1.13=Teh LOVE!
If JA3 is at least half of that combination, it will be a great game. But i heard some rumours that it will be mission driven...

Dude. If you like the original game, then 1.13 is like chocolate topping to your ja2 sundae. It adds so much and fixes so much that the game is new again. Playing at higher resolutions is just one Small minor example of what it does. Check out these sites to find out more/give it a try:

http://ja2v113.schtuff.com/ (check out features list-its massive)
and
http://www.ja-galaxy-forum.com (also hosts the urban chaos, dl total conv mods)

Oh and to the OP: Does the magazine article mention if any of the original voice actors will be featured in part 3?

even if they fail at making a good game, there's always a dedicated community to fix it.
