Just put my new system together:

MSI K9N SLI Platinum Motherboard Socket AM2

AMD Dual Core 4600+ Socket AM2

1Gig Ram,

My question is, i'm buying a Thermaltake Rhythm an i've read that, AM2 is basically 940 but with a few chip differences, but im thinking more about the retention mechanism, as the TTake Rhythm is build for several Sockets but not AM2, but Socket 940 is mentioned, what i would like to know is, can i fit this on my board's Socket retention mechanism, or am i looking at buying a seperate waterblock,

Peace V.H.

I just checked out TT's site and found this "Thermaltake Tribe VX"
http://www.thermaltake.com/product/Liguid/DIY/cl-w0081/cl-w0081.asp
and its for AM2. Might even get one myself Razz
Review here (sory, German) http://www.allround-pc.com/index.php?reviews/06152/bericht.htm
DL the manual for the Rhythm here http://210.202.84.91/manual/download_result.asp It might give you a clue as to the mounting etc.
And found only this.

Looks like you need a new block if you going with the Rhythm.

I saw this,

http://www.watercoolingshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=26_66&products_id=505&osCsid=72

And i think, if i replace the mounting plate that comes with the packaging, an use this one, then, i could fit really any type of watercooling of my choice, just need you guys to tell me, that its possible,

Peace V.H.

I was wondering if i buy something like a thermaltake rhythm or the symphony an instead of using the waterblock it comes with, buy a third party waterblock that is AM2 compatible, an just discard the waterblock the package came with an apply the AM2 designed, i really want to watercool, as i have fitted a gpu watercooling system an it works like a damn charm, but any help with this question would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks in advance,

V.H.

read some of the stickies there. In the end you will be happier with a custom build than going with a kit.
