I dunno, When I think about it, Jumping on a 8800GTX right now would have been a horrible decision on my part. They can't keep that thing 90nm and that huge forever and there are plans for its faster, cooler, smaller refresh which I think is G81 before summer. It seems like they wanted to run out the gate first knowing that the cards going to be improved on in the near future.

And there are rumors of ATi going to 65nm sometime near the end of the year. Boy is this a bad year to buy enthusiast level video cards, damn Vista.

I guess I'll stick with my personal contract I made, "When you buy a video card Kamel, Keep it for a minimum of one year." Crying or Very sad

That means August 07, but thats if my current card can play this years games reasonably well which I doubt.

well this is the stupid thing about technology. if your going to go hardcore, just go for it. theres ALWAYS going to be new technology released at the end of the year... if you wait a few more months for it, theres going to be something NEW on the horizon AGAIN that youll be tempted to wait for... its a never ending cycle... as long as what you have is current upcoming gen which the 8800 is, be happy with it and dont agonise over it. the 8800 will do you VERY nicely for 2 years ATLEAST.

Yeah, wait for nv refresh, but oh no, R600 is lurking around the corner. Oh well, I'll wait for that. But wait, another nv refresh... I'll wait for that for sure, it will kick ass! But now I hear about this amd refresh?! I better wait for that, it will have 2GB of vram! Do I hear news on a new DX? I better wait for that, because this will have SM5.0 and it will kick some donkey balls. But hold on, what is it I hear about ...................

For now I'm gonna stay with my Riva TNT2!

I think what your saying is true to a certain extent. I believe there is always a timeframe in which an upgrade of a certain component is futureproof and will serve you well based on things to come.

An example would be the 7900 and 1900 series, they came out long ago and held their crowns up until the 8800. Say you jumped on a 7900GTX back near its launch well its still serving you very well since nothing really came out to stomp it besides the GX2 which is garbage to begin with.

But this whole DX10 fiasco is a mess, all sorts of crap will be coming out within months of each other and once you pull the trigger you aren't safe for very long like we were with the late DX9 generation where things sorta slowed down a bit. I feel bad for people who are buying 7600GT's in the next month or so when there are 8600's that will be released near the same price point.

But then again if you have a 8800GTX waiting for a R600 to beat the 8800's 120+ Fps by 30 Fps is pretty pointless so time will tell if that card remains a beast through the year.

wanna play it on pc using steering wheel, x360 wheel is too expensive for me
got Logitech pc wheel long ago just for 20$ and barely used it since due no decent driving games on pc if at all[maybe nfs5,yeah right 7 years old game] i'm not talking about racing games
and i hate hdr, wanna see it without it and with some decent AA if my old rig will manage it, if not then fuk it, will continue playing on x360 using controller
and thats the only game i wait for, not gonna bother upgrading my rig just for one game that is Rolling Eyes

You hate HDR? How is that possible? Games look so bleak without it... I'd trade AA (not a big fan of that, lol) for HDR at any game.

Yeah thats a nice list of games when I think about it. But maybe Im missing something here, "get>burn>play=simple" = no buying involved right?

I might grab a X360 in the coming months to entertain myself as long as I don't spend a penny on games then it would be cool. $50 a game for that list of games you might as well buy a PC.

You can hook the x360 to a monitor with a VGA converter...

But I Laughing @ PS3 owners... They must buy their games for the near future, because afaik PS3 doesn't allow (for "security" reasons) to play PS3 games from DVDs...

Is it possible to hook that up to my PC LCD? Do they make any DVI variants of that cable?

sure it is but no dvi, just use convertor http://www.tvcables.co.uk/images/items/vga-to-dvi.jpg

and don't forget x360 only supports 60hz refresh rate

LoL. I gotta see my current DVD burners DL burning performance before I go out and grab a new one. This thing does lightscribe so Im hoping they make lightscribe capable DL discs that way the games don't have my sloppy ass handwriting on them.
