I don't know how many of you have heard about MODDB (the biggest mod indexer on the net) but they are having their annual mod of the year awards and there are some really nice projects this year so if want want an original, free game you should check it out:

strange they didn't put some very nice WIP mods for DOW , such as Witch Hunters, and Daemonhunt, the models and stuff looks so cool, that they easily could be made as separate official expansion...

Makes you wonder how the nominations were performed...

Anyway, I think I would vote for Mistake of Pythagoras, I really liked that mod.

Upcoming PC games 2009 and onwards

Looking through the HL2 mods, some looks really awesome, I forgot all about this site.

I remember being hyped for Insurgency, and it looks like it still might be great - as well I've got GoldenEye source downloading. Hopefully it has SOME nostalgia.

It is simply stupid to nominate mods that aren't released. Useless contest.

waiting for this one:

Project HDTP

A released single & multiplayer role-playing mod

Can't stand to play through Deus Ex again when there are titles out there with much nicer graphics? Project High Definition Texture Package feels your pain and wants to help, with fully remodeled characters, weapons and objects, among other things! More info...

Anyone tried the Freelancer mod?
