You young'uns should play it, it's a cool game... and it's 20 or so years old.

DIEEEEE!!

That game was actually amazing for its age Mad It was one of the first free FPS-slash-RPG games in existence.

I feel the same way about TekWar (cough... sorry; William Shatner's TekWar Very Happy) I absolutely ADORED that game but it ran like ass Sad I never managed to get it running on any machine I had at the time, not satisfactorily anyhow, and year down the line when I had better machines with DOSbox to run it perfectly, it just hadn't aged well Sad

Strife did Deus Ex before Deus Ex.
Large hub world, branching storyline, voice acted dialogue trees, cool faction war zones where you play cooperatively with some AI...
It was pretty awesome back in the day.

Aaah..I have only good things to say about this one..except for it's performance lol

Witchaven 2 didn't run well either. I think it used the same engine.

Tekwar <3

I was lucky with one of my 2 best buddies having a pc shop at home. Usually for new releases we pieced together the best that was currently laying around and play it over there. His dad didn't mind since every kid (hell even adults) went like: I want a pc like that xD

It ran decent... but in all honesty compared to other games on the engine that's not saying much. Laughing Still we were a bit more forgiving since it was a great game.

Hah, we were more forgiving back then full stop. None of this 60fps nonsense demands we have nowadays, we turned everything to lowest, we ran at 1/4 window size, we suffered with 15-20fps Very Happy I still remember the day I could finally run Doom full screen and not in some terrible tiny window grinhurt

Chasm: The Rift, how did i miss this game?!.. looks awesome. I think i'm getting too old, i just find AAA titles rehashed boring games, and just "wow" at some of the "Best Game Ever Played" in the giveaway thread.
