its a sad day as I say goodbye to my old and aging PSP. In our 1 year association, it gathered as much dust as my apartment could generated only interrupted occasionally by the new firmware that the leet DarkAlex keeps putting out. 2 days back I found it between my sofa cushions and realized that it needs to go to a better place before I land my foot on it. I hope with all the hoopla abt PS1 gaames and stuff, it would find a decent home and get me some spending cash!!!!

PS3 = gaming on 42" Hidef Plasma , PS1+PS2 compatibility, guaranteed titles for future, bluray player, will also play DVDs and I am sure something similar to the media center integration will happen pretty soon.

PSP = playing on itty bitty screen, cumbersome controls, who wants to play a PS1 game on a 3" screen when u can play it on 42", no interesting titles in future, looks like Sony's efforts and heart is on the PS3
8800 GTS = lot of game issues with current games, current driver support is terrible and no vista drivers yet, vista like any new windows OS will take at least 1 SP to be reliable and by then the 8800 will be obsolete, no Directx10 game out yet, so we dont whats capable and whats not

Well, I sold my VGA-screen PDA the day Xvid playback for PSP was added through homebrew. Watching stuff like TV eps every day on my way to work and back home. And all those PSX RPGs...

Never going to sell mine.
Outside of mame you have arcade perfect versions of Ghouls and Ghosts, Hyper Fighting, SFA 3, Tekken DR (Almost), Darkstalkers.
TBH I couldn't care less if they never release another game worth playing.

After i got my DS. My PSP just isn't fun anymore..
The PSP is a very nice pice of hardware though. I say good call, hiatus_gsw.

but for gaming it sucks big time. there's almost non official psp game worth wasting our valuable time

Can agree with both arguments really. It's funny how everyone expected Sony to do what they did with the PS1/Saturn war and play hardball with exclusives and Grade A titles.
Think the PSP has probably suffered because they got cocky and didn't really expect the 360 to put up a fight in the main console market, all of a sudden the're in danger of pissing the PS2s market share up the wall, which probably takes priority over the handheld shit.
Big irony is all the guys doing the emu stuff who they have tried so hard to fuck with have kept the machine alive.

There's a question of priority of big consoles over portables or vice versa only if you're a small shitty company with limited budget.
The lack of games is due to scheduling - they give each title some time to sell and the next ones are waiting in line. If you release ten titles each month, some won't sell at all even though they'd sell good separately if there'd be nothing else available.

I'm just getting into Final Fantasy VII and really enjoying it - the number of games now is massive. Just like you say the PSP is an awesome handheld 'console', and with Dark Alex going into 'Warp Drive 7' its blowing everybody's mind
