I know the game is not all that but this is just for the specific achievement.
"If you have NBA Live 07 or would like to get the achievement for playing online with 1000 other players, we have set up a time for everyone to get online.
January 28th this sunday at 12:00 Central Time everyone needs to get online and stay online for about 30 to 45 minutes to make sure everyone gets this.
Go into the lobby i think is how we need to do it.
I rented the game and i suggest you do the same and help everyone. EA made this stupid achievement on this game and this is probably gonna be the only way to get it. So please help out your Xbox Community and Rent this game and get online on Sunday and PLAY!

Umm, don't you actually need to play against 1000 other players in a live match to get this achievment? How is staying online for 30 - 45 minutes going to accomplish that? I'm sure that you don't get the achievment for simply being online at the same time as 1000 other people. That would just be stupid. I guess it's EA though..so I could be wrong.

Wow, I just looked into this and there is a 1000 people online achievment. How idiotic.
"Online with 1,000 people 100
Be online when there are 1,000 people online at the same time"
With that being said, I don't play games for achievment points, and I certainly don't rent games to garner them. Good luck with it though.

No they are not. They are fun. Adds a bit more to the games. Replayabilty for example, when there is more points to catch in various new situations you might be given to get that special achievment.
But this one was just plain stupid. What if you live in a time zone where everybody hates this game?

Just to follow up, The attempt failed but was very close. And no you don't have to play 1,000 people, You just have to be online in the lobby with 1,000 people in there. I myself like the achievement system that Microsoft setup on there games it makes the gamers look forward to certain things while playing a game. Here is a reply someone received from EA about the IMPOSSIBLE ACHIEVEMENT:
"OK guys here's the response I got from EA today:
Hello Graeme,
Thank you for contacting EA technical support. I am sorry that you are having difficulty.
This achievement will be possible to achieve. The Achievement does not require that 1,000 users are playing online, but rather that 1,000 users are signed in. With the number of users either playing an online game or simply listening to the ESPN radio. It does look like there were 917 max players online that Saturday best thing would be just to post something on the message boards in both US and UK which could be able to get the max amount of players online so you can get this achievement.
Please respond back to me if you have anymore technical issues concerning the game.
Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts.
This means we could all go online with NBA and just listen to the radio if what this guy says is right. Go forth and debate guys..."

We still don't care...
I use my console to play games...not to run stupid EA radio stations while my tri core processor machine with a custom built ati card built on unified shader technology simply idles while waiting for another 999 sad bastards to come online for a stupid achievment.

Yo honestly I'm not posting this info specifically for you, So I can really give 2 fucks if YOU care or not. Don't jump on my thread bashing simple info. I'm just posting this here for gamers that want to acquire a hard obstacle. I don't care what your xbox contains or does ITS JUST SIMPLE INFORMATION being passed along. So get off my nutz!

I'll take that as meaning that you really care about what i think on this whole achievment malarky so I'll respond just because I'm a nice guy and I don't want to let you down.
I'm not trying to get on your "nutz", I just don't see anyone posting here in response to this thread who has had anything positive to say about achievments as a whole even in a general sense. Now, when we start talking about people going out to spend money on renting or buying games just so that you can go online with hopefully another 999 people who happen to be playing or otherwise just to score a measly 100 points then I think that were crossing the line. In actual fact, if there are 1000 people playing this game at one time then really EA should be the ones who get the achievment...not us. What have you achieved? Nothing. You've scored some points spent the $5 to rent the game and maybe made it to the 10k mark or whatever the hell it is your aiming for. I'm sure that when you get there it's going to impress everyone around you. I'll look forward to reading about it in the news when you do.

Aight so lets break it down for people WHO CANNOT READ:

Now its plan simple if ya can read. And just because you don't play the games for the achievements is fine!
