no endless play in this version?

i mean it took me like 2-3hours to dominate the (way too small) world of the first difficulty setting with ze germans... hell it was tanks against archers at the end Very Happy

anyway is there a possibility to play on a HUGE scale map with more than 4 adversaries who are actually challenging to play in a way?

No its not. Console gamers tend to be seen as impatient and not as skilled as PC gamers. So you get this watered down version of Civilization which I honestly think will sell horribly because even a water down version is going to be to much for a console gamer. I'm not trying to sound like a elitist but obviously even the game developers think this way too.

I remember when FF VIII first came out and a bunch of non RPG players bought it simply because of the graphics. A person I knew at the time who bought it for the graphics said exactly this
Quote:
The game is stupid you have to read
My reply was "do you even know what a RPG is"? Now look at RPG's mute characters are a thing of the past even the pointless town villagers have voices. Not only that but ever notice RPG's are becoming allot less RPGish and becoming much more action oriented nowadays? They are all becoming action RPG's with less and less RPG elements everytime a new release comes out... Even the graphics seem to get more worked on more than the RPG elements.

With Civilization series being a turned based strategy game I don't think many console gamers will be pleased by this game... oh goodness I can see it now... Civilization V now a FPS the more you kill the more your tech advances start off as a club wielding warrior and advance to a Mech.... thats what it would take to please console gamers and I can just see that fucking happening.

You´re generalizing a LOT!!
And what the developers say about being a lighter version of the pc game, is all about the pad, not about the peoples skill

NuclearShadow: Well, I think you need to be more skilled in an FPS game on a console rather than on a PC because of the controller. Im not saying its the best FPS gaming choice, but at least now you can strafe in FPS games on a console these days. When thats said most (or all) RTS games are mainly made for PC because of micro management. But I guess this one is still a turn based slow going "hate it or love it" game.

The pad isn't the reason the maps are so small, the pad isn't the reason that the game moves so fast, 100 years in 1 turn early on etc........

Your way of thinking makes no sense. The controller is like a dead limb when it comes to FPS's this is very true but that handicap hardly makes console gamers better because they simply learn to deal with it. While PC gamers have easier aiming and controls this makes even harder to stay alive and encourages people to perform allot better and think on their feet. I would love to see a game of CS where its Console vs PC and I highly doubt the console gamers will win a single round.

In the past there were plenty of turn based games on consoles. Plenty of games that took thought and intellect perhaps not as much as a PC game even back then it but goes to show you how brain dead developers think the general console gamer is today because those games basically don't exist anymore. I also noticed that console games seem to have gotten so pathetically easy that I feel the developers are worried about frustrating the gamers out of fear of future rejection. Console gaming is in such a sad state and the worst part is no one seems to notice and then they have the balls to claim PC gaming is dead.
