http://gizmodo.com/5807996/hackers-spill-over-1000000-sony-online-accounts

This is getting out of control here. Imagine all that data on the net about so many people. I mean, these hackers proved their point, but what did the customers do to deserve their sensitive data to be spilled. These guys need to be brought before justice, just like Sony. Fuck it!

Also, I think tomorrow's a good time to buy Sony stock.

Indeed. If they keep it to themselves, go for it, show the world that Sony sucks. But spreading it? Hell no.

Looks like its nothing PS related unless you opted in on Sony related products when signing up. Its Sony Pictures this time that has been hit. I do agree in showing flaws in their security, but to publish all the information online of innocent people is just a disgrace.

Unfortunately, simply throwing a gag up on a web page puts nowhere near as much pressure on a company as putting them in financial/legal danger. It's unfortunate for those compromised, but necessary if you ever want to see any sort of drastic change.

I've got no sympathy for Sony whatsoever, its proven itself the typical multi-billion dollar corporation that skimps and cuts corners at every possible turn. They deserve this, and much more.

I have no sympathy for Sony either, its the people that have had their information made publicly available that maybe couldn't give a shit about modding a console and just want to use a service provided by Sony that i feel sorry for. If they used their brains instead of doing something as rash as slapping the info in a rar file and uploading it to mediafire, why not email sony with a snippit of the info and say look, we have this, want it kept secret? Then tighten up and maybe do us a couple favours.

From reading various news posts and forums regarding this hack, the hacking group seem to be making alot of enemies and i can see that going against them in the near future.

Im not doubting that Sony cuts corners, as thats been made pretty obvious not just from this hack, but the ones before. I just dont see how publishing personal info of innocents gets them anywhere in their venture.

Its always nice to see big companies stumble over their own decadence Wink

Dont care about the sony jobs the would get lost if this trend continues. The money which is now spent on sony products would just be spent on other companies, which in turn would have to hire new people to meet demand. Basically no jobs would be lost they would be just migrating. Maybe a company a little less decadent would get a chance, and messing with hackers is certainly becoming something feared by corporations, which is always a good thing Wink. Just look over at MS, they picked up a 16 yo kid who made some phishing attempts to aid his development. I know its a publicity stunt to get hackers on their side but A-> This means they are at least a little afraid and B->Maybe other companies will pick up that tactic, which certainly is the way things should be... (Don't put some talented kid in jail, instead try to develop his talent for something good)

Yeah I agree it takes some talent and brains to hack, but to reward them with a job offer...it's like bombing a country to get what you think they need....Microsoft/EA and the like have been screwing people for years....this will change nothing...the consumer will suffer at best....

An sql injection does not really need a lot of talent but quite some effort, cause you'll need to find the single input/link where you can inject your code Smile
