There is a book I read, and I remember talking to someone about it here (dingo_d or couleur maybe?).
I wanted to get it for my daughter, but I cannot for the life of me remember the name. Its been a good 20 years since I read it, and might have some of the details wrong so I will just put the general jist of the setting:
It was about a 'prince' from a tiny planet living with a rose, and a man that found him in the desert. And the prince telling him stories of his travels.
Not sure if that's enough to help, but the exact details of the stories he tells I might too fuzzy/wrong on to make it any help (or even hurt) explaining the book.
