Install the 32bit version if you have less than 4gb of ram.

This might be of some use and explain the lack of 64bit scene releases.

it was the same as XP 64 bit hence why MS stopped supporting it/producing it. Ultimately the articale should have read "there's no drivers, don't bother with it"

Until 3rd parties produce drivers that work MS are fighting a losing battle with anything 64bit

Lol, i have vista x64 up and running without problem (now that i have fixed the 64-bit video codecs problem with media center) excepting for the lame nvidia nforce drivers for my RAID5 array (the 32-bit driver sucks equally). And i actually use apps optimized for 64-bit (vue infinite xstream between others). Wink

@ mediansoft

x64 versions are included in the winbeta release.
If you can't find a native dutch release, install Vista (x64 or not) Ultimate version from winbeta/msdn, then download the MUI dutch language pack between others available thru windows update, install it and you will be able to use Vista in dutch.

@ syn

Actually unless you have only 2 gb of ram x64 is usefull because apps/games no more relly on 'only' 2 gb of accessible memory. There is a hack for XP where you could add the command /3GB in the boot.ini file but i dunno how to do that with the vista boot manager.

"The address space is usually split so that 2 GB of address space is directly accessible to the application and the other 2 GB is only accessible to the Windows executive software."

If that's the case, then why did Microsoft recently release (3/12/2007) Service Pack 2 for Windows XP x64?

I haven't encountered driver problems in either x64 XP nor x64 Vista, I don't think I'm alone in that either. Actually tell a lie, in Vista the Nvidia drivers were absolute crap, but with a shiny new ATI card, their drivers rock.
