|
 |
Bought this mouse today and thought I'd replace my Diamondback. Disregarding what I've read on the net about it being a major pain in the ass to install I proceeded...
Mouse were alive about 2 secs each time I installed it. I could move the cursor 2 secs then it would be on (glowing and stuff) but I couldn't move the cursor. Tried in another USB, same behaviour, another one and same shit there... A fourth one and same fucking crap happened. Thought well lets go back to the Diamondback then... Removed all drivers and guess what. The Diamondback does the same fucking thing.
Took out my old MX518, same shit. However the MX518 worked fine through PS/2 and all other USB devices except mice worked fine... FUCK FUCK FUCKELI FUCK.
Tried everything, cleaning registry, reinstalling drivers, removing drivers, mouse etc... Nothing helped. Now I had to do a fucking format and reinstall windows to solve the damn problem. And no support faq at razer, not at MS either.
I'll piss on this POS and burn it.
Stay away from Habu!
*goes off to reinstall games and apps...*

i m having a razer diamondback myself and thought about switching to the habu as the casing is way better for my big, fat hand. I always liked the ms intelliexplorer 3 i had before that, so i was happy to see MS go back to making gaming mice.
Judging from the fact, that you cant use any other usb-mice now i d say it is a hardware issue rather than a software one. Have you tried it with a different computer? Do you have too many other usb-devices running, drawing too much power? Have you assigned an irq for usb in the bios?

well I haven't had any problem with any other mouse. Ever. My diamondback is back and working fine after the format. Note that even though I uninstalled the Habu the Diamondback would still be bugged, same applied to the MX518. MX518 and Diamondback is back working fine after format. They worked fine before I attempted the Habu too.

ok, if a format helped than i guess it was a really bad driver fuckup. It s a shame as i had high hopes for the habu... i will stay with the diamondback for the time being than

Yeah I had some high hopes too. The bigger and "higher" design, not to mention the larger buttons on the side really made me want one. :\

another thing, if it comes with ms drivers, perhaps you could try the drivers from razer as it is virtually the same mouse as the latest razer one, right?

Thats odd, I replaced my diamond back with Habu and I've had 0 issues with it. Installed fine and has never caused any problems at all, personally I think its the best mouse I've ever used. The side buttons are 400x better than the diamond backs (plus providing an option to change them?! Amazzzing!) and the overall design is just more comfortable. The biggest is the ambiguity between who actually made the thing. The support seems to be done by MS, but the mouse is almost 0% them.. its a tad odd.
Lutz, the drivers are made by razer, the whole mouse is. The only thing MS on the mouse is the outer shell design and the name MS stamped on the box. The mouse itself is EXACTLY the same hardware as the copperhead.

mmmh, i ll check out the mouse again then.
the colour of the led in the habu is blue, right?
A red one would be cooler, like the intelliexplorer had. I d buy it for sure, if it was red

so its not the laser-light? If it s only LEDs it should be easy to mod the mouse with red LEDs, w00t w00t

finally got it working, updated firmware again through the copperhead software on another computer (mouse didn't work to begin with either).
Moved it back to my gaming pc, disconnected the lan cable to avoid any possible automatic driver downloads, plugged in the mouse, installed the 1.0 drivers, rebooted, uninstalled them, reboot, installed the 2.01 drivers, rebooted, uninstall, reboot, installed 2.10 drivers and finally the drivers found the mouse and it works.
Now its sweet, in love with it already...
