it just fools vista into thinking your running a motherboard with a oem vista licensed bios:-
When your motherboard BIOS is executed at power-on, it decodes the ACPI table data and stores it at the very top of your system memory. From that point on, only that data is used to determine what ACPI functions your computer supports.
SLP v2.0, the volume licensing key system used by Microsoft for Vista Royalty OEM installations, reads that ACPI table to see if it contains a Software Licensing (SLIC) Table. If one is found, an embedded signature in the SLIC table, the OEM Manufacturer and OEM Model (also in the ACPI table), and the currently installed licensing key are compared to values within a Trust Certificate. If a perfect match occurs, Vista self-activates. If it does not match, Vista enters into unlicensed trial mode.
The bootloader functions by searching for the ACPI Table at the top of your memory, appending a valid SLIC table to it, and altering the OEM Manufacturer and OEM Model strings to match. (You must manually install the appropriate License Key and Trust Certificate that matches what the boot-loader uses.) No modification occurs to your actual BIOS. No alteration occurs to your BIOS in memory. The only thing which is changed is the ACPI Table which your BIOS has already placed into memory and Vista depends on for it's SLP v2.0 checks.

Ive just checked the paradox rls. after you load the driver you have a full activated vista. no need to crack it because vista thinks its a preactivated oem version. you can download all features from the ms hp. realy awesome!

Dear lord, I see many have activated that way... I'll research more and update the FAQ. No key, just running something and a restart...
[EDIT] It doesn't work for all mobos though... Some users still get 30 days to activate.

Rather than start another new Vista thread and it is this release that has prompted me to post this reply, I figured I would post here.
So I run System Requirements Lab to see how my PC would cope with Vista and it passes on the minimum requirements but fails on the recommended and the optimal. The recommended cpu is an intel duo core or an amd x2. Well my CPU is only a 754 3400. It fails on the optimal requirements because of the cpu and also the ram and video card. Optimal ram is 2gb and I only have 1gb. The video card it recommends is 7800 or better and I have only a 6800GT. I plan on upgrading in the next few months anyway but my my question is what do I lose out on by failing the recommended specs and the optimal specs?
May the NFOrce be with you always.

Dude, if you won't play games on Vista, it will fly on that machine... Vista runs better than XP on any machine with more than 512MB RAM.

It was for you. Keep the XP installation for games. Vista isn't all that good with games right now due to the lack of driver support.
Anyway, I'm geting the release as we speak... I'll try it on VMWare and in my PC. I'll update laterz...

As a rule, upgrades suck... Always make new installations, even if it means you have to install a few apps all over again.

You just said to keep my XP installation for games lol. I assume that would mean an upgrade to Vista not a fresh installation? I am confused.

I'll make it clear. In any case, don't upgrade! That's a general rule to follow. Now, you have two options; delete XP installation of keep it. If you intend to game, keep it.

your really shouldn't care about updating vista, if your on this board you should know that you really shouldn't update anything from M$ directly because that will fuck everything up, use 3rd part solutions, just google them.
BTW this crack Windows.Vista.Activation.Installer-1.0 is working and i can confirm along with many users from antiwpa that it works.
Check the billgates thread for more information.
