I've been playing lots of this and it's a mixed bag.
It's worms, and thats great. 2D worms is the best so i have no complaints in this area.
And lots of review sites have been slating it because it only includes 3 environments, and some of the weapons from previous games are missing.. Boo hoo - that doesn't change anything really - it's still great fun.
However, there are LOTS of bugs. The netcode is pretty piss poor, and it can often be hard to join a random xbox live game. On top of this, there are plenty of bugs i've come across in teh game engine- for example worms starting on top of mines, getting stuck in the environment, etc. I guess the game just doesnt feel polished. On top of this, in the single player challenges, the worms are just like usual - perfect - they rarely fuck up and when they do you can tell it's just poor coding. Most of the time they manage to bounce a grenade of 5 walls, 2 worms and still have it end up next to you - reminding you you're playing an unfair battle!
That all said, it's still seriously addictive and great fun to play with mates. The ninja rope is difficult to get the grips with, and some weapon damage has been set a bit low (its unlikely you'll ever get about 65 for any single weapon).
It's a good game, and a worthy contribution to your collection - but only if you like worms. If you don't, or haven't played it before - take note, this is a very cut down version and feels buggy and rushed.
