Hey i get this error when i start The Sims 2 which i know alot of other people also get:

The Sims 2 "Couldn't find a DirectX 9.0 C compatible card".

Does anybody have a solution for this?

Edit: I've found the fix. Disabling REFORCE (forcing hz for old graphic cards) makes it work! YAY! Very Happy

I temporarely have a Geforce 3 ti200, since my other card is in for reparation.
But it should work for the game, i read the readme.

I have the same problem, but I don't have any memory of installing a program called reforce. but now if I have done that, how can I disable it? or is it some other way fixing this?
I'm running a P4 2.0Ghz 512 SDRAM, Gf3 ti 200 with the latest drivers from nvidia, win xp with sp1, direct x 9c downloaded from windows homepage.
In the readme it say that you can run the game with a Gf3 ti 200 so it should work.

now can anyone help me out with this?

Some people have this problem because they are using a pre-final SP2 which came with a Beta 9.0c. Using a DirectX remover and then using the installer on the CD should fix the problem (from another topic in this section.)

I tried reinstall the graphic drivers but it din't work.
and I also tried the directx remover, and installed the one that is on cd1, but still not working.

My friend got the game running and we have the same systems.

Maybe I'l just try to reformate the harddrive

Well that didn't work either, now I don't have a clue of what to do. But hopefully it will work when I buy a new graphic card
