for those using XP, do you have Vista installed in a 2nd disk or in a Virtual Machine?

XP for sure.
I'll wait for Vista SP1 before installing it, so major flaws are fixed.
Also proper driver support should be available by that time...

Screw you guys. I'm going home.

I was thinking of using Vista but will wait for better drivers and SP1 before installing it, XP works good enough and there are no specific Vista features that I need.

XP. But I have Vista Ultimate on another hard drive just for fooling around with. Razz
I would continue to use Vista, but due to HP being lazy, my printer doesn't have drivers. And there's games I have that have issues with Vista.

Mostly Vista, reason is, if it plays on Vista, it plays and looks better than XP. Try X3, SH4 or supreme commander, you will see what I mean.

XP/Linux, not that I have anything against Vista. It's a fine OS even now, and all the blame rests with Nvidia, ATI, and Creative Labs (fortunately I never buy CL cards). As soon as video drivers are improved and I've got a reason to upgrade, like the release of a DX10 game or I upgrade to 4GB+ RAM, then I'll definitely switch over.

XP for now since my system is too old to be a good platform for Vista gaming .I will however make the transition once i do a full upgrade but it won't be anytime soon since i'm waiting the 2nd generation of DX10 cards to come out or maybe even later.Meanwhile i plan to buy a PS3 and that will be my main gaming setup for a while.

Yes and yes. If the drive is clean, make sure you install XP first and then Vista, not vice versa. It's no more complicated than before and the only difference you'll notice when you're done is that Vista has a new boot menu and has done away with the old boot.ini way of doing things.
