OK. so ive got a few gripes with this one, i hope nobody takes anything the wrong way as its more of a query really, sort of...i guess...i dunno. Anyway.

nfo states in notes that its cbr studio line audio ac3 5.1 now i dont posess to be an expert but these screen shots say otherwise.

now for my question. in gspot it gives an avi overhead of 1.06% would this make the audio out of sync, cos it is. seemingly all the way through from what i looked at!

i've now got the enjoyable task of resyncing the audio....one of my favourite jobs in the world! Rolling Eyes

If i am correct about all of the above should this not have been nuked. if not for the nfo stating different (cos that would be a pretty poor reason..ya know could have been from a previous nfo template or sumthin) but for the audio sync issues?

Feel the need to say this is not a direct shot at CAMERA either i respect what they and all other groups do! Wink

well i didnt "think" it would, i'm pretty well versed but not to the level of a proper ripper i imagine. so i was checking. hence i said "would" this make the audio out of sync?. thanks for the clarification. Smile

since the above i have done some reading. although i am still not sure if it has anything to do with audio being out of sync. the avi overhead is CAUSED by the audio samples/chunks!
see

not being a smartass or anything i just like to learn somthing if i dont know. i have a thirst for knowledge. if anyone else can shed light on the matter that'd be great.

avi overhead is just the space required by the file format (ie the container the video is kept in) ... more is required for VBR audio.

I don't think you can say anything about sync based on it... I think bad sync is just caused by a bad job of sticking audio back with the video... also, sometimes some people experience sync issues while others do not on the same video ... no idea why...

ok cool. thanks for the info dude. on that link it actually kinda describes why some people experience bad sync on a vid while other dont on the same. its due to poor interleaving,

Quote:
That doesn't mean that interleaving doesn't affect performance, and if a player has strict playback constraints as hardware devices often do, poor interleave may render a player unable to maintain correct sync or even uninterrupted playback. However, a non-realtime conversion on a hard disk (or other random access medium) on a PC should not have such constraints.

since i tried "transcoding" (hate that word....sounds weird. dunno why) with 2 seperate programs and played on 2 different machines i would conclude this defo should have been nuked. but im just one person and just could be real unlucky i guess, but ive not had probs before Sad

resyncing as we speak

well anyways after looking at the file on numerous players and my standalone and a different player it goes in and out of sync all the way throughfrom what i can see so i aint resyncing that cos it'll take too long. so its getting deleted n i'll wait for a dvdrip Sad
