Just expect huge hardware requirements to run it smoothly, my guess

- Conroe dual-core E6700 (@2.66Ghz)
- 2 Go DDR2
- next-gen DirectX10 GPU (G80 for NVidia or R600 for ATI) Very Happy Very Happy

Time to spare some money to pay this uber configuration for next year Very Happy Wink

I'm going to buy new PC for that game, but it'll be work ONLY with Direct-X 10, that means that the game will work only on Windows Vista. And i don't think that Vista is a good OS.

you can run it on dx9 hardware, all the stuff we've seen is apparently dx9. but i would bet money that their will be some features unplayable on current hardware so we have to upgrade to dx10 cards and vista.

I wonder, though.. those models have an INSANE level of polygons... can that sort of detail be maintained in a full scene of something beyond some model heads sitting on a shelf?

Ok, lets talk about Crysis. The only thing i'm afraid is that he needs a lot of Ram memory. The world is one huge map, like it was in Xenus (Boiling Point: Road to Hell).

Source engine IS unoptimized. Even there are sites dedicated to its slowliness. Besides source maps are so small and loading every five seconds. With those microscopic maps it should run without any slowdown.
Theres one video when the player enters the frozen area seems slow. Probably has layer of textures and shaders and stuff like that. Thats why they dont show it a lot. I have only seen it for few seconds. Also they still have problems with ragdolls, destroyable houses and game stability.

Was disabled ai problem was caused by bad crack if im not mistaken and not by the engine?
I have played HL2, DODs, CSs, SiNs, LostCoast, HL2Episode1 and that was enough for me. I bet valve has shitloads of money, but why they dont spend sum more on talented programmer, i dont get this. And those goblins shmoblins at the start cutscene were total crap.

Source runs fantastically, but there are always those bitches who need something to whine about.

Maybe you should get a new computer if it doesn't run to your satisfaction, but I know people who have it run perfectly on computers which are 5 years old.

Episode One was perfectly optimized, i dont understand why you so hate Source Engine.
P.s. end offtopic, we're discussing Crysis here, and not Half-Life & Soure Engine.

Well maybe because they had nothing to calculate since they did not load any new stuff like pixel vertex shaders. Offcource it would run better/smoother. Oh boy I hate hl fanboys. Whatever...
The biggest secret is online mode they had some cool stuff planned like power struggle. I wonder if it will be delayed or not. Somebody should hack their pcs their latest build so we could get our dirty hands on it.
