I would rather wait for a quality release. Especially the sound on the ones leaked sounds like they are coming from a TV from the 80s.

I don't know... The shield doesn't have the best quality even when you watch it on TV or download a proper release. Someone forgot to introduce to them HDTV - but then again, it's one of the things that makes this show work I guess.

Well, yes, true. Even the DVD release has only mono and uses 4:3 format, but it's still quality audio/video.
These rips have totally fubar sound.

Thought The shield used 4:3 and the distressed credits to give it a more documentary Feel , also seems to be quite grainy

Yes, there is going to be a season 7. But that is the final season.

That's rather short, like season 5 which had only 11 episodes. Usually there are 13 per season though.
