I almost fuked up bad on the weekend. i installed the latest Chipset driver for my EVGA 680i Mobo. After restart i got the blue screen saying there is some conflict or another with "Royal.dll" ok i thought I go in safe mode and look. Did that, and found out that "Royal.dll" is the Emulator for VISTA OEM... did not think straight and deactivated it and yea you can figure the rest . Had a Acronis back up image and all was well in the end.

But now the question.

Could I go in to safe mode in VISTA and deactivate the Emu, install the chipset driver reboot in SAFEMODE! and reactivate the Emu ?. I never tried this and to be honest I don't want another session with the Acronis Image, so in order to save some time I simply ask here.

You need to roll back the Nforce PCI System Management driver to the Microsoft one that came with Vista to be able to use the crack.
Go to device manager --> system devices and it'll be there.

I had the same problem.
I had to re-install Vista to sort it. Then once re-installed I ran windows update & installed everything but the NForce PCI System management driver. All the other drivers were on there. Everything works a charm now, just gotta make sure you never update that device from its original state...

Hmmm, I might have shouted to soon. it works alright but it seems to slow down the whole system by A LOT!, at least on my side, I had an image saved just before I did this (Acronis...AGAIN! thank God!) and all runs as normal now. Could be my set up, but for sure things felt like glue after I ran that "vista loader 2.1"...maybe you guys have better luck.
