no one knows the final island is freakin HUGE takes well over an hour to drive around the outside of it. The final game there's tons of stuff to do and search for. Highly impressed myself from just playing for a few hours i'm inlcing to give it a 9/10. Also you cant just start clubs etc etc you have to earn some cash and prove urself a little it costs money to make car clubs. Great stuff. I'm playing the NTSC retail btw so i cant answer if the PAL is region free.
::update not it isnt region free. Looks like the NTSC'ers r gonna be waiting til tomorrow

dunno really feels more like pgr3 to me than say nfsmw but more realistic inclined but not AS realistic as most sim car games. I think there's a good balance. I turned the driving assist off and its not a chore to drive the cars. The graphics look greaqt to me in 1080 i dunno why people complain the environments looks bland the areas are 4x as good as a game like saints row and it keeps a solid as a rock frame rate. There's some pretty sweet lighting effects too as the angle of the sun changes durning the game. Ok when you play music this is the kicker when u put the windows up you can hear the music better, i know i know its sad but its a nice lil touch u have to admit

game looked great on the latest demo if you ask me with the lighting added. As for the gameplay its a huge game, there's missions you can challenge ppl to race join clubs create clubs its huge. There's a some popin but thats to be expected not saints row style popin just vegitation is mainly what i nitices and some objects but the whole road doesnt dissapaear for seconds at a time and you dont see the testures not loading into a higher res like you do with saints rown. And it streams the envrinment much much much better than oblivion does

Works fine on Hitachi with Verbatim DVD+R DL discs, just tried it. Game wasn´t fucking good though, Ridge Racer 6 is a lot fucking better.

yea if you like driving around in circles in fake cars with arcady handling, hardly anyone online to play against, no level of customisation then ur right ridge racer 6 is a much better game. There's more depth in a teaspoon of water than ridge racer 6. Face it you just didnt want to like the game anyway

I´ve never understood the joy of super realistic games like Test Drive, i play videogames for enjoyment, not simulation. Why not just drive a car IRL than play stuff like this? Can´t get more real than that.

this game isnt exactly a sim either, hybrid id call it. And as for the other part why not just shoot a gun in RL rather than play a fps? See where i'm going with this. The game is huge there's more to do than just racing other people and bots there's missions, chance of a huge online community not to mention prolly the biggest game area ive ever seen in a game (well not really daggerfall prolly takes that). To go round the whole island takes a long long long time compared to other games. Lot of depth to this game and for the $45 i paid for it its more than worth it

Maybe because we all dont live on the Island of Oahu (spelling?) and we dont all have the money to crash our cars going 160km/h down the road. plus gas costs lots of money, tires plus plus...
Why do we play sims and realistic games? because it's an escape from reality without too much hassle and moneyspending.
It's not that hard to understand is it?
Only thing that bugs me a lot which has made me loose a bit of my taste to get the game is that it's not like a MMOG where you drive along with hundreds and thousands of players which i thought it was supposed to be in the beginning.

iots the nearest 7 players to you the players name change around all the time dont worry too much about it 8 is enough at once to keep the network lag down we dont want another prey/cod2/saints row on our hands.
and your point is exactly right, its a chance to experience a simulation of something we'd love to do but cant, due to jail, death, and cost.

So, what you mean is that at all times there will be 7 people around you, and not a session with 7 people for the whole island?

How is the offline singleplayer part of the game? How does it work? Do you only do missions? What are some example for those missions?
