Hi,
I'm planning on getting a Wii on thursday, installed with a Wii key and 10 games for under 200 pound .... But I really don't know if I'm doing the right thing ??
So can someone try to convince me, or tell me what good games are coming out for it, and have any ideas on what 10 games I should get .....
The only game I really want to play is Zelda ... and I want to get Mario Kart & Zelda gamecube games, do they work with the Wiikey ???

I really am flip flopping on whether to buy it or not, I think the missus might actually get into it, which is one of the reasons I'm buying it .... Are there any rpgs planned for it ??

I have to buy something otherwise I'll piss the money up the wall on drink or drugs Twisted Evil

So it's a Wii or a Home theater !?!?!

You cant compare the Wii and its games library to any other other non-Nintendo console. You just cant so dont try. Its in a league of its own! In my opinion the console is worth owning simply for Twilight Princess and any other Zelda franchise that comes the Wii's way! Also the Metroid series in which I am eagerly anticipating the release of Metroid Prime Corruption and granted yes the FPS controls are a nightmare and dont work as well as I hoped. Then there are the compulsory Mario titles of course. Super Paper Mario is a great game unless it bricked your console lol. I really like Cooking Mama too and thats sounds a bit too literal! I think it has great potential and its still quite new since Ive only had mine about 6 months since it was launched in December last year.

So the 10 free games should be ????
1) Zelda
2) Paper Mario
3) Wii Sports
4) Wario Moves
5 - 10) ????

And there was only 1 Zelda game on the gamecube, Are there any actual new Zelda games planned for the future ?? Headshot do you know if Zelda & Mario Kart Gamecube games work with the Wii with Wiikey ??
I feel like I'm buying the Wii just for the sake of it ...

wii sports is free indeed...it comes with the console Wink Rayman I heard is quite fun...got it, but haven't played it yet Wink Bust A Move Bash is quite fun and addictive as well, easy to pick up for anyone too...also wario ware and excite truck...wario ware cannot be described other than a bunch of crazy ass minigames that are shockingly fun and weird equally...I got a wiikey too, and it works like a charm (I am NTSC though, if that makes a difference...). I love the system, and while there are not a whole lot of games out at the moment that are necessarily worth getting, the ones that are are really fun and quite deep (like Zelda and Paper Mario for example)...as well, there are definitely some good ones coming out, like Metroid Prime 3, Mario Party 8, Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Strikers Charged, Mario Galaxy...

I dont know about Wiikey. I have Wiinja and I have PAL Windwaker which works perfectly on it. I dont have Mario Kart but as far as I know all PAL Gamecube games work on my PAL console. NTSC do not however. You gotta add Cooking Mama to that list! Heatseeker is pretty cool on the Wii too I think.

Looking forward to Trauma Center and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers. A Wii version of Resident Evil 4 is also due this year.

I'm in the same boat as the thread creator. Does anyone know if there will be any way in the future for nintendo to make games that can't be cracked with the wiikey, or original (not backups) games that can detect a wiikey?

Aaargh, after my post, 5 posts up I had come to the conclusion that I wasn't going to get it ... But Headshot you keep changing my mind, so I'm in the getting it again thought mode.

Then again Legend2k7s list of top games coming out, doesn't read good for me only Metroid & Mario Galaxy I'm slightly interested in ... I have to admit Resident Evil 4 looks sick tho

Personally I think the Wii is ok but if it was the choice between a Wii or a 360 I would go with a 360. I hardly use my Wii now because of the 360 but once you start the wii up you start getting back into it. The things I dont like about it are the controls on some games (eg the motion sensor and the pointer), lack of good games, poor graphics. But it is still a good fun machine when you get back into it and have a few friends around to have a few rounds on Wii Sports etc

Overall if you are just going to blow the money on drink and drugs you might as well just buy the Wii Smile

My experience with the Wii is that it's good fun single-player for a while, but it only really comes into it's own with (A) friends and (B) alcohol. Regardless of age or gender, after a few beers everyone wants a go, even with just Wii Sports.

Yeah it will be good for parties ..... and Steve-O, I got a 360 already .... Not overly happy with it, every game seems to be a FPS, played the Ps2 more than the 360 lately.

Hmmm actually wasnt it three games?

The Four Swords Adventures which I think is probably the one you were thinking of?
Then there is Windwaker
But also Twilight Princess was released for the Gamecube as well as the Wii

So three Zelda games Smile

I don't consider Four Swords a true Zelda game. Wink

I think there were more than that, There was Windwaker, 4 Swords, Twilight Princess, and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Collector%27s_Edition , a bonus disc of some sort.

i got me a wii 2½ months ago.. came with wii sports and i bought wario wares/or moves or whatever... *yawn*

got me Super Mario Bros for NES *YAY!* and N64 Super Mario Kart.. purchased thru Virtual Console.. pretty nice tbh - ive played that more than the Wii titles themselves...

i just dont get the nunchuck/wiimote deal... its like its a good idea and all - but the games are way to focused on using the scheme.. and it just end up being kinda tarted..

im probly soon gonna chip it.. maybe wiikey - i dunno yet.. im hearin theres a solderless chip on way.. Smile

i mainly bought the wii cuz i thought i could use it as a dvd-movie player for me bedroom, office, or whatnot.. since i only had ms consoles and they kinda make alot of noise even for dvdplayback Rolling Eyes

heres to hopin the wii will get a dvdplayback homebrew/official channel upgrade thingme.. Smile
