is it possible to download dashboard updates from the web and install via cd ? i only found this regarding backwards compatibility http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardscompatibility.htm#disc

yes and no, installing the update will not ban your console if you stay off Live but it will be banned if you sign into Live at any further point from now if you have used non stealthed images in the past

cool, i didn't knew that, but then again what is the point? staying off-line and being unbanned is like being banned and staying off-line anyway point is if u banned u are banned, there is nothing u can do personaly played on-line only copy of GOW for an hour or so, others were original and i still have old fw and connect to live regulary, mainly to check demos and stuff

i was asking this just in case....i checkd my box today after several weeks and iam still not banned iam using xtreme 4.2...
