So I was at Wal*Mart...ya..shut up, I wasn't there for myself, I was just along with a friend.
Anywho...I see this game called Fate and apparently it's almost as popular as WoW as it.....*gasp* has 4 million fans and growing!
Anywho, was this any good? IGN and Gamespot (user votes) both have it as good.

fate is a great little gem of a game. I bought it when it first came out as a dwonload only game. It was so popular that Wildtangent were having a hard time dealing with it.
Wildtangent usually delivers very simplistic games... the guy that wrote Fate is now actually working for Flagship Studios on Hellgate London. So I hear.
Fate is also moddable. Rumor is, there will be a Fate II with multiplayer support. Soemthing that was sadly lacking in the first incarnation but still, it is a sweet little game and don't let the screenshots fool you. The graphics are delightful.
Fate truly is a game that harcons back to the old Rogue games. Complete with a little dog (or cat) as a pet that grows and levels up. You can also get things in the game that change and transform your pet into different creatures (permanently). It even has fishing.
Everyone that likes hack and slash or the old Rogue games should give this one a go. it is definitely worth the price of admission. I spent many many many hours on this game.

And anyone who posts a screenshot of a game and only points at graphics as their soul reason for playing a game has probly missed out on a lot of good games and ended up with quite a few shitty ones.
THATS why the PC gaming scene has gone to hell.

Wildtangent? Aren't those the guys that practically started the whole adware boom? They had alot of fun games, but dang if you didn't need to reformat your drive with all the crap they installed to play the game. :/

Yes. Wild Tangent was one of the first really high profile ad-ware people.
I still remember explaining to people not to download their shit.

I've just gotten the game, so far it seems alot better than I thought it would be. I remember reading about it and not getting it cause I thought it would suck, but I was wrong.

nope that doesnt work ,the newest crack avaible is for the version 1.21 the trial is 1.22b or something like that and it doesnt work together , i tried to find the older 1.21 trial some time ago but didnt have mutch luck, so there is no way to play it at the moment.

I tried to search for it a while back (in google) and others and its not available anymore. Just tried to search for 1.21 again and its not available anywhere I can see. The latest version (Fate 2006 I think its called) has been available for a while and pretty much every site that had a non wildtangent link has updated to the latest version. If anyone has a site that still has the 1.21 version (the "broadband" large version preferred) let us know.

I hope that is the old installer! This game was actually really fun -- I just ran out of time. When I tried this game they had you capped at level 5 or dungeon 5, seems now they do it as credits. Either way, The game is fun and will play on your work computer!
