Never saw the need in 10,000 RPM drives for non server class systems, even more so with the speeds of SATA2 being so high.. Still, I think thats more a personal choice than a technical "this is not worth it"..

Personally I feel this is pointless, unless someone has any other information there are no games other than BF2 that actually utilises the on board RAM and even so, the extra money for the card isn't worth the performance increase.

Not a fan of thermaltake since buying the Xaser V, the case I'm currently using. Surely there is a better liquid cooling alternative for lower cost?

Lastly... The habu is awesome, but the keyboard doesn't convince me.. like the Raptor I think it is a personal thing, I like laptop style keyboards and the best keyboard I've seen for a while costs £20 from scan.co.uk Wink.. a friend of mine has it (I'll be buying it as soon as I have some money Sad).. the back light fucks with my eyes.. its ace!

Btw, what's the highest resolution on the monitor? I've read a lot of recent reviews that say the higher RAM 8800 models are pointless (provide no increase in FPS) over the lower RAM models, unless you're running at really high resolutions.

Current Keyboard (it is great, but it gets dirty easy.. looking for a metal one..) -

(I'm confused as to why I can't find a good picture of the back lights, they really are amazing Neutral)

I agree with the X-FI, it's useless. Get a sound augigy ZS 2.

As for the MS habu I haven't heard anythign good about those yet. It seems Razer and Logitech are the ones to go for unless you personally have used the habu and like it.

I'm just expressing an IMO but the best cases are Lian Li's.

I'd rather go with Evga for a video card as they don't care if you rip the heatsink off to add a better one to it.

As for power, their not so uber advertised like thermaltake ( the pc ricer brand ) as well as alot of PSU companies rate their PSU's are 0C but the best ones your money can buy is the pc power & cooling turbo watt PSU's and they come with a 5 year warranty and are rated at about 50-60C. I've got the 510 watt running my current system and still has alot of power left to add more to it.

DAMN! Good rig Iced...

Now you'll be able to play Lost Planet @ max... (Rolling Eyes If you can make it start)

And get an X-FI! Dumb creative will not make EAX drivers for the Audigy series.

Just to add to the above,

I have the MS Habu, its just a razer mouse (internals) with a nice MS finish (externals).. I love it! It replaced my Diamondback.

I would still go for an X-FI, as they're really nice cards if you use headphones a lot, the sound improvements over my old Audigy 2 was amazing.. But get the extreme music, they're cheap as hell now anyway.

Love Lian Li (never had one personally though).. but I cant help but feel they are over priced. Antec P180? Has a lot of rave reviews.

Well, Lian Li's ya..they do seem over priced until you get one. I didn't want to pay that much for a case just cause it was holding stuff, nothing to do with performance but I got talked into it. I got it and the quality of everything they use is astounding. No cutting edges. High Quality Materail. the case I have feels like metal that came off a tank. It's durable as all hell. I punched the living shit out of it from a temper I had ended up bruising my knuckles and so forth and not even so much of a blemish on the case. Hell even the little PCI slot covers are higher quality than what you would expect for soemthing like that. So unless you actually own a Lian Li, I could see why they seem over priced. but once you use one, you wont want to use anything else.

I've got this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112058 And I love it as if it were my kid lol. I'm going to be buying the server edition of it though..LOTS of space and HD racks. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112062

and of course they have wheels so you can ride it down a hill if needed.

Also with the reverse MB design it makes fondling with stuff in the back alot easier since all the stuff you mess with is now at the top.

lol my mom is still using teh XP1700 Laughing Thing is ancient but still running strong

and nvm what I said about going to EVGA. Didn't see that th eBFG was water cooling but...Why in hell is it so expensive? It's just an 8800gtx with a waterblock on it. You could just get a GTX then buy a waterblock and save some money

Man that case looks awesome.. I think you have converted me Razz! Has a similar design to the Antec P180, which I love!

The friend I'm building a PC for (see my thread..) is currently using my old 2000XP after his 1700XP died Wink.. Still.. now his new rig is kicking the shit out of mine.. I hate people with money Neutral.

ya I know right Sad

The case is simply awsome and it's hard to be disappointed though if you DO happen to get it, get the server one and some long cables Very Happy It does really well at radiating the heat. Instead of the case just heating up, the heat can also escape through the little holes all over. It's VERY usefull in the winter Very Happy

Madness!!! Smile

If it were me, there's no chance I'd pay $940 for a 8800 GTX that is water cooled, that's actually costing more than a 8800 Ultra (which isn't worth getting anyway Razz). I'd end up just getting saving up another $100 and getting 2x 8800 GTX with normal cooling and maybe if needed spending $40 on some aftermarket coolers. If you couldn't afford the extra and already are pushed to the limit, then just get 2x 8800 GTS 640mb versions and save some cash.

I'ma have to agree. Almost 1K bucks just for a watercooled VGA? You could do that with an aftermarket block and save a few hundred dollars. I don't see why that block would bounce up the price so high.

Yeah you will get a lifetime warranty if you register your purchase within 30 days on evga website, otherwise you will only get 1 year warranty.
