so i installed the game, and it started up fine, but when it goes to the main menu i just see a gray screen with black lines across, the options are visible and when i try to start a new game nuthing happens i got a geforce fx 5200, 256 mb ram, 1.6 ghz duron anybody know whats wrong?

amd 2400+

It could be a stupid answer but...you should have Call of Duty eng to run United Offensive eng. If you don't, menus are messed up and the game crashes.

err i might have found the problem, i was reading in other forums and found out that it has to do with burning or whatever, some guy had the same problem and just installed with daemon, so imma try that, update later on

I had similar problem (which I described here), bit neither mounting with Alcohol, Daemon or burning the CD's helped. Anyone got any more suggestions?

i have installed with daemon lastet version (3,47)
But what happens is :
1) When i pick my difficult (Greenhorn) it just hangs and load. After a while it just goes back to main menu...
2) When i press Quit it doesnt quit... i dunno why but i always shut it down from taskbar...
And i have also updated last Ati Drivers 4,9 Catalyst
+ i have lastet DirectX!

It happened to me when i tried to load the game with spanish language but if you install english game it works properly

Maybe this sounds silly...
But could my problem be because of this:
When i run original CoD(call of duty)
It gives me this message: "Unable to load default.cfg, make sure its running from the correct place"
Or something in that style!

It depends by the last patch (it's 1.4).

Well my versions are:
Call of duty: 1.4
Call of duty UO: 1.41 ....
So whats wrong?

Your best bet is to uninstall all and then reinstall from scratch. Looks like something corrupted along the line. Just install CoD first and then let CoD:UO to update it to 1.4 and install all the rest including DirectX 9.0c . All should work.

got the same shitty problem like iraqi, what the fuck? no solution for this? want to play it damn, always wrong menü description and fucking crash after selcting a difficulty ... holy moly? PLZ HELP !!!!!

make a copy of config.cfg an rename it to default.cfg (same for _mp)
