Well planing to buy a PS2 , when i looked at vista and some of they ahm bugs and well i lost the interest of a new PC hardware . So what must i know to play PS2 "Backups" , do they have some swamp disk like DreamCast , because i will buy this one in some comp store , and it will be not chiped don`t know who would chip it for my anyway and i am not planning to buy it from some e-bay store ... So what must i know , what hardware must i also buy for it etc... fuck me it will be my first console in my life , does it have a hdd ? so let the helping tips begin

If you prefer the Dreamcast method then swap disc 3.6 is great! though its probably best you use quality media on your backups if you dont want to wear your laser down.

Also theres HD advance/Hd Loader

They both work like software that enables you to play games off a Hard drive that you can connect to your ps2 you'll need a compatible HD and a ps2 networking adaptor currently I have a 120gig maxtor one though the programs themselves actually support bigger drives nowadays. You stick the HD into your pc download a ps2 image off the net and transfer it to your ps2 hd then take the ps2 hd out and plug it back into your ps2 put the hd loader/hd advance disc in and it will load up a proggie that will let you select the game there are different compatibility modes that might need to be enabled though most games will work with mode 3.

well in those stores that i what to buy it they only the slim model , with no HD have read that PS2 uses normal IDE HDDs the same like on the PC but they have to be specially formated by the PS2 programs , so could this Slim use USB IDE HDD ( have a external HDD with 10 gig ) and if not then this leaves me with the swap disc 3.6 , so can this swap disc play games like God of war , Shadow of the Colossus , and others and another question have read that PS2 don`t read burned disk so if i burn Swamp disk 3.6 it can`t be read ? or are they another way to make it read and are they some con/pros against the Slim or the normal PS2 (allready know that slims don`t have HDD )

HDLoader -latest version. Enables you to install 200+GB IDE Harddrives. Best thing for PS2. Dont bother with CDs/DVDS. PS2 lens are so bad - they eventually fail. I run evertything from HD. USB IDE HD most prob wont work. Only standard IDE HDS will work thru Network Adaptor. Just buy a 3.5 external case for under $20 and you are set! been running swap magic for 2+ yeras with no problems on 2 ps2's... 1 ver10 the other version 4 the lens on both seem fine... wish my shitey xbox1/xbox360 were as reliable

so i understand that the disk for HDLoader should be original , because burned one will not work ? the same with Swamp Magic 3.6 ... ok then will buy this two disks , look for the fat PS2 with HD and if all goes wrong then play only original games
