Ok so i've recently decided to upgrade the GFX in my system. At the moment i still have my BFG 8800GTS 640MB (bought at launch), but i'm looking to upgrade to either 9600GT Sli or 8800GT SLI. There is a considerable price difference here, €70-100 more for Sli 8800GT. So which SLI setup would have the better performance vs price. Also i've been trying to get some solid info on the 9800GT, would it be worth the wait or is it just going to to be a 8800GT with 3 way SLI? i5 4670K @ 4.2ghz/ Gigabyte GTX 980ti Xtreme Gaming Windforce/ CORSAIR 2x8 GB DDR3 2133MHZ / CREATIVE X-FI / MSI Z87-G45/ 6TB HD'S/WIN10 PRO/LOGITECH Z-5500 5.1

Its being put into a secondary machine unfortunitly.

Is SLI really that bad? I know power consumption would be a factor but still theres some nice bench's for 8800GT SLI.

SLI is not bad, but the differences with or without are nominal. Wait for better card a bit, that would be better investment imo...

um SLI has been around since the late 90s its not going anywhere

and the cards to get atm are the 8800GTS 512MB or 9800GTX. and once the GTX launches itd be pretty stupid to get the 8800 since they are the same price
