I have asked this question before but sort of confused myself so didnt get a good response..currently I have an LG HD LCD and have it set on max using the standard HD component leads..I read somewhere that VGA is the way to go but after some reasearch am now confused again as there doesnt seem to be much difference. I am thinking of buying the madcatz lead...is it worth the extra 20 quid(uk) or $40

thanks

NNNNOOOOOO!!!!!!! What ever you do DONT buy the Madcatz VGA cable!!!! I had one and it was crap (Ghosty image). I took it back and paid the extra £5 (£20 in total) for the Official Microsoft one and its much better...

Oh yea, personally I wouldnt even bother switching from Component to VGA, you will most likly not see any difference (I dont)..

Depends on what resolution your TV is capable of.

tried on my samsung 32" both
component wins over vga, it's simply much more sharper and colorfull [was using max res with vga cable 1360x768, while 720p is 1280x720]

It probably depends on the TV. I personally just use a 32" monitor for my 360 display, the image quality is far greater with the VGA then the component (it has a DVI input), but then again it supports greater resolutions then all but the highest quality HDTV's.

32" monitor costs twise as much [if not more] as 32" HDTV and 360 only has analogue output over vga, even if u plug it via vga2dvi adapter u still will get same picture quality, didn't test higher resolution as my tv does not support it
