9am, I get to work what do I see? A motorcycle on the ground and a girl lying on the floor on a pool of blood... What's the fucking problem with the Avenue where I work? A speed limit of 50km/h and I see cars passing red lights at 120km/h?? And the police? What do they do? Nothing! All they care about is cars that aren't well parked or haven't payed that extra euro for the parking meter. Fuck this, a girl could lose her life (or she already did) because these assholes think they are the kings of the road and have no respect whatsoever for the laws of society. This really makes me feel depressed

Strange, on my way to work I was thinking about how the traffic in Portugal was. And if you pass a red light at that speed (or any other speed) you are either an idiot or you know the traffic light system very well. A guy at work drive at red light when he knows there can't come any cars crossing... don't feel to safe about it tho.

It sucks... It really sucks. People driving here are just insane... I drive everyday to work but I'm quite cautious and I really respect the safety of others. You drive here often, deelix? In Lisbon is just insane. I don't advise any tourist to drive here. People are crazy about cars... Buying an Audi or a BMW when you only can afford a Citroen is just stupid! No wonder the average debt of a family is 112%! Spending more than you earn just to have a car to show off is quite dumb. Thing is that they pass those red lights between the yellow and the red, when they see the yellow sign they just speed from the top of the avenue and by the time they cross it it's already red for them and green for pedestrians.

Portugal has one of the highest traffic accident percentage in Europe. I have been there several times, and they drive like madmen. Upcoming PC games 2009 and onwards Bravery is not a function of firepower.

Only been driving in Norway and Sweden. Don't know why I was thinking about Portugal :\ People in Norway aren't that crazy. And the accident about that girl would probably hit the frontpage. (not far from at least). Seems like people get more agressive in hot countries, Spain, Italy, Turkey... Very much focus on safety in Norway, even signs along the road that encourage you to use seatbelt. But not all norwegians are good drivers, thats for sure. Would love if more people could use sign out of roundabouts.

Had a bad experience, Parallax_? The sound of the horns was driving you crazy? Or was it just the way of driving around here? We're a bunch of losers in so many aspects, at least we could drive properly...

Nah. People drive really nice in Spain compared to Portugal.

It's just the way people drive in Portugal. Otherwise I liked it there, nice people and places.

I think the girl died... The paramedics stayed there for quite long and they left with the sirens off. That's always a bad sign. She looked in a really bad shape when I saw her. Fuck, i can't get her image out of my head!!!
