Why clutter? it would be more practical. Instead of using links you could just press play and watch the video, like on the Videosift site.

Im on a forum where were allowed to do that but only if permissions are set. I would hope that only a majority of members would have the privelage to post such shit cause I can see quite a few morons posting stupid videos in threads that could be offensive n such.

I'm sure it could be limited to certain sections, although it would be nice for gameplay videos, movie trailers, music videos..etc..

yeah if it was limited i guess. but if for instance the void was allowed then seriously it would be so cluttered. i dunno just my opinion obviously. but gameplay and movie trailer would be sweet i imagine. on the whole i'm very indecisive 50% of the time

Well, flash can be abused with them going all over the screen or overlays on parts of the site, so I don't think I should just allow any flash.
I could limit it to just youtube, but I don't really see the point of youtube except for jokes or the void. Videos on youtube look crap, so you wouldn't want to watch a gametrailer on youtube, but a highres version, and those are in QT or similar formats.

Implementing Youtube and GoogleVideo functionality would be great. But honestly, fuck Flash, wether it is in your avatar or whereever.

Im all about progress and flash would be that. Flash takes much less space over gif and it has much bettar quality. Hell i can make flash video smaller then 99% of pictures used here for avatar.

Yeah i know. and your pretty pedantic. everyone else in here is differentiating between the embedded videos within flash used on the youtube site and custom flash animations except you because you thought you would try and be clever. I really pity people like you...seriously.
EDIT: rinze, yeah something high res for game trailers and movie trailers in QT would be sweet.

if we're gonna allow adding embedded content, we would have to put strict rules to content, size and permissions... since it can easily be abused and it can potentially add a security risk to our forum users..
i'm open for a tryout

ah but then WHY? would you not allow youtube when someone could just download a youtube video and create their own flash video out of it, its not difficult. In fact you would probably get people like GenrlZod creating their own flash vid players just so they could embed it in a post on this forum. There is no difference between a youtube vid and a custom animation, if i want to put live action video into a custom flash animation I can. I may be a pedant, but you know im fucking right, and thats why you got on the defensive from a 3 word post.
Im completely against the idea, animated gifs are an eye-sore already and imagine what flash would do if put to the wrong hands... QT is a good idea tho
