Imo the previous AC games were boring and unpolished and I'm pretty sure this one is no exception. Also the ratings so far are poor. I won't get it. :-/

Basically you run (and fly) around in a huge mech that you can customize down to the balance bias, emblem decals and power allocations, or you can get the computer to automatically do the fine tuning (although it's not as efficient as manually doing it). You take different missions, and earn money to further upgrade your mech, you can also enter tournaments to become the champion of the arena. It has big explosions, great graphics and cool destructible environments.
It's for the kinds of people who enjoy making things, not for those who just want to run around killing stuff with zero brain activity. I really enjoy the games myself, love the amount of customization you can perform and the huge variety of mechs you can create. The assembly and shop interface is a little clunky but if you persevere you'll get used to it within an hour.
If you've played chomehounds you'll have a good idea what to expect. It's just far better then that game in every respect. The mechs are far faster (with the overdrive boost over 1000km/h) the game is alot slicker there are far more options in construction and missions as it's built more around the single player. So if you enjoyed that at all, you'll love this.
