Quote: | 7. The complete Pokemon series was banned in 2001 in Saudi Arabia. Why? The Saudi Arabia’s mufti, the highest religious authority in the conservative Muslim state, claimed it promotes Zionism [thinking the Star of David is in on the cards] and involves gambling. “It resembles a game of gambling because of the competition which at times involves sums of money being exchanged between collectors of the cards” Sheikh Abdul Aziz said. For the record, we do consider this a violent videogame for its forceful capturing of cute animals in tiny prison balls. |

Weird, They didn't list King Pin: Life of crime, that game was taken off all the shelves around the states a few weeks after release and was the only game I've ever seen shipped with a parental advisory sticker on nit.

UK usually isn't too bad, but banning Manhunt 2 recently has pissed me off. I mean it's probably going to be banned in alot of countries (USA included) but a simple solution would be for the game to be kept in storage or behind the shop desk and you have to go up and ask, while showing ID to get the game. So it's not displayed on shelves, that would instantly cut the amount of kids who would get it.
Also they should make it a finable offense to buy games for someone underage, and they should make this clear to anyone who goes up to buy it.

They have a system like this here in the states. A game like that will be in the system as 18 or over and you have to show I.D. to buy it. If not you'll have to go find someone who is. So why it would get banned here is beyond me, if your 18 and can sign up to die for your country, you should be able to play whatever the fuck you want without it getting banned. They should ban the military damnit, that's more RL than any FPS game around lol.

Unfortuatly in the UK at least it's not illegal for parents to buy 18 rated games for their child. However, I myself work for a game store and always makes sure the parents know that its a 18 rated game. Its quite sad really the amount of parents that don't actually care that their 10 year old son is playing Grand theft auto.
I agree tho, the rules govening the selling of video's/games needs to be in line with that of selling tobacco and alcohol.

Hooray for Canada! I love how lenient we are with our ratings. Half of the movies rated R in the US becomes 14A here or even PG some rare times, this is especially true in Quebec, where almost everything's turned into 13+ or 14+, even when they get rated 18A in the other provinces.

Or they can stop censoring peoples entirely all over this planet. Why are they so afraid of death? It's a pre-req for living! More importantly, why the fuck do we have a heirachy of morons controlling everything?
Thrill Kill was hilarious, I still own it. Midget on stilts, unstoppable.

I like how Pokemon promotes Zionism

I don't think it's as violent as say, the GTA series. However the darker tone may be off putting to the rating companies, nazis.
Did you ever get the secret Judas costume? He is both Ryu & Ken torsos'. Wish I could find a pic!
