Just a thought on this. When you install the 1.2.1 or the 1.3 patch it updates the starforce drivers and requires you to reboot. If you're playing the game through the method of disconnecting your CD drive, woudl it be possible for some person to modify the old starforce drivers that came with the game to look like the new ones? Maybe change the version number, etc so the game thinks they're already installed?
