Commandos isn't one of them? I'm not sure it can be considered RTS, but...

Actually, u're rightbut it's not a game that i meant. If u played Soldiers of FOW mentioned earlier i think u'd have known what im talkin about. Bigger maps, lots of enemies and rather arcade gameplay (with direct control that is). Thanks anyway!

EDIT : Oh, and also the use of vehicles is very limited in Commandos (very rare, actually) and there is simply only a few of those in the whole game (series).

There was one about Rome if I'm not mistaken, where you could take over units (or just the heroes, don't remember), but don't remember the name. Sad

Rise & Fall: Civilizations at War. Wink

It was ok, but wasn't that impressed by the demo.

It was a great idea executed poorly.

Yeah, the idea has great potential. But it needs to be implemented correctly.

Firstly they should try and recreate the feeling of being in a massive visceral battle, with a large degree of realism. I don't want fantasy shit like Dynasty warriors or Nightly nine nights, where there are ridiculous flashing impacts, 100 hit combos and you can decimate an enemy army singlehandedly.

'Heroes' did make a difference in real historical battle, but mostly though morale and (depending on the individual) tactics. I want to play a game where the fighting is fairly realistic, where my character is almost superhuman in abilities, but it is still within the realms of possibility. Something like the Spartans or even the uber immortal off 300.

I remember this game, played it on my Amiga and I finished it 3x completely without ever resorting to cheating, loved how you could buy like over 40-50 different weapons, awesome game:)

Thanks a lot for the answers. Will check out those games. Right now im playing Soldiers, Outfront (standalone add-on for Soldiers) and Faces Of War but will check out the other suggested.

I hope i'll find some seeds.

Thanks a lot Exclamation

BTW. Dogs Of War reminds me Chaos Engine (1 and 2) a little. Cool one too.
