I am going to a local retailer later, il ask to check the box to find out what version it is as I want a jasper model, but how do I tell which is which? Im guessing there will be a code on it somewhere, a manufacture number right?

depending on where you live i'd say it's very unlikely you'll get anything but a jasper if you buy a 360 now.
..it really tied the room together

Try to get one with MFR Date < june 2009 to use the jtag exploit imo if you are planning to buy one.

You can get RROD with Jasper too, but chances are it will live longer at least. Seems like the %age is way lower.

So you choose the bad platform, you should buy ps3, coz it's much better than x box, i know it , coz i have both, and i love the silence when i'm playing at ps3 + it has wifi

I own both as well.
If someone has a lower budget or just frugal with their cash... it makes absolutely NO sense to pay for a PS3 IMHO. Of course it has a few games that are good exclusives... but my GOD... the games are SOOO expensive. Even their value line is expensive. Even the USED games are expensive.
XBOX trumps the PS3 all over the place in price and game selection.
I bought the PS3 because I could and there are a few games I wanted on it (exclusives).
And PS3's die as well (they also sound like a vaccum cleaner when they are at the stage of dying). Have had 2 friends of mine that sent theirs back in and you can find numerous people on the net talking about it.

I have found most pre-owned PS3 games are a pound or two cheaper than the 360 version. Plus, and I have no idea why, but PS3 owners take better care of their games than 360 owners  Well, that's what I have found in my experience.

Might be the case over there, but across the pond here, you're lucky to find a used game more than 5 or 6 dollars off the NEW price. Ebay seems to have the best deals.
