Hi, I just signed up here to make this suggestion/feature request.

I was thinking, since new releases seem to hit NFOrce pretty quick, I thought it would be a great idea to have a bot back-end sort of thing, but it would return search results in the same (or similar) condensed format.

So if you query the site like (look carefully at the get vars):
Code:
http://www.nforce.nl/rss/bots_search.php?sections=divx,xvid,vcd,svcd&search=Civil+Brand

It would return the same style results, like:
Code:
2003-10-27;Civil Brand (2002) *DVDSCREENER* *LIMITED*;KYD;XviD;50x15MB;cbdvdscr-xvid-kyd.nfo;http://www.nforce.nl/rss/bots_search.php?whatever=blah;;http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0326806/;
(taken from your example)

It could even be made to include all the advanced search features as well. This way, people in IRC or whatever, could quickly check to see if something has been released yet. I can see thing coming in REALLY handy.. and I've actually wanted to do something like this myself for quite a while; probably a year or so. I could parse the search results myself but that would be a major pain.

Thoughts?

This sort of thing already exists. Loads of pre-bots exist, each with a search. I wouldn't be suprised if you can't already search the nforce bot either.

EDIT: Misread what you wrote.

Yeah, I know there are already pre bots like that. But I was just wondering if we could ever get access to a list of condensed search results from nforce, so we wouldn't have to manually parse the search page for everything. I don't mind having to do that if I absolutely have to, but with something like this everyone wins. Nforce saves bandwidth, the people getting feeds have a lot less work to do and they would continue to work even if the site's layout changed again.

Is there a different site I should be looking at for this sort of info? Any info you've got for me is appreciated.

Thanks
