this is such a disgustingly shameless money grab... like i said before, i wish that the people behind the original ideas for some of these movies were able to keep the rights to them, rather than those studio bastards milking it with tasteless crap like this. the stupid thing is, great shows get cancelled quick... crap runs forever, so this'll probably get drawn out for 4 or 5 seasons where they completely rewrite and tear down the entire franchises universe...

actually the show does kind of manage to capture the feeling of hopelessness that you had at the end of the first movie, no matter what you do humanity is still gonna bite it big time in a couple years, that kind of works. On the other hand it's a Fox show, so expect about 4-6 episodes and then the axe... (i'm still a bit pissed about Drive grrr)

24 should have been axed at the end of last season... i wanna see bauer go down in a massive blaze of glory, but i DONT want this dragged out for 10+ seasons.
and i want them to kill off his whiny supid useless bitch of a daughter god dammit, ugh yeah ok she looks decent, but the character is utterly idiotic.

Bauer is shit  Season 1 was the best. It was smart. Witty. Quick. Well Paced. Well done. After that it's been going down hill to appease the silly american audience 
Seems like... if you want your show to stay on air... you need to entertain the dimwits If the jokes are for the educated... the show wont last. Look at family guy before it got canned. It was top notch. Smart. Witty. Funny. Then it came back... and it turned to shit.
Same with arrested development.  And many other shows. Invasion's one of them. People don't want to think when they watch TV. they want everything spelled out for them and they feel smart. Look at CSI. there's like 10 minutes of actual story line and the rest is just the CSI crew explaining how a silly procedure works or how they get fingers printed on some high tech laser machine. 
Heroes is doing well. It makes you think for a while, and then it explains everything and it's done well. Even horrible shows can get 10+ seasons If this one is well thought out (even if the story's shit) people will watch it and they will love it and it'll get 2 + seasons

I don't know, I actually liked it. Obviously, there were some things I didn't like about it, when the machines show emotions for example. It aint badass, it aint cools, it just doesn't make sense.
Example, when the evil robot holds Sarah down, he kind of smirks one time, it just ruined that scene for me.
But, I did like it. Sure, it's not the same thing, but the fx was good, and it had action. I don't know, I think i'll follow it.
I don't see it as ruining the Terminator series if it turns out crap, because 1 and 2 will always be good, the third one will always be so-so, and if the series turns out crappy, i'll just see it as it never existed, just as I do with the third one.
Could turn out pretty good, obviously no where near the original terminator movies, but still, could turn out well, for a tv show that is.
Used to be Yondaime but forgot pass and what email I used on it. Doh. I had ~1200 posts or something, been around since NForce started or so, so i'm no new guy.

While I agree with you, if you watch the uncut version of T2, When john and the terminator are at the gas station (before the scene where the two kids are shooting at each other with guns adn the mom yells at them) John Connor teaches him the whole smiling thing (I believe this was after the rebooting of his system so he was able to learn) |

It just doesn't make sense.
I do love that the robot is so blunt, just tearing through a school with a broken leg, I loved it in T2 when TX1000 (was it named TX1000? Can't remember it too well.) went trough the bars in the mental institute and that doctor just sat there totally mindstruck, just realizing that Sarah has been talking the truth.
I hope they put those kinds of moments in this one too.

Yeah, I agree, that scene was also golden! Absolutely made it worth watching the movie, hehe.
I think it's time for me to rewatch the trilogy, atleast the first two.

btw., does none of the producers of the terminator movies or this bullshit ever ask the obvious question? How many fuckin terminators can they send? Hopefully not enough for a full season.
I think the series could have been good, if it was a drama about a young boy growing up with his looney mom and learning how to hide and survive, kill and destroy. But having terminators in it, kinda fucks it up for me...
