Does anyone know how to get around this problem where when I try to delete a folder or certain files I get a "You need permission to perform this action" notice. Even though I'm the administrator on this account. At the same time, how do you remove windows.old foler, I tried doing system cleanup but it doesn't move it at all.

I guess you're using Vista.... It turns simple things into nightmares
Personal opinion? Ditch that crap and reinstall XP
EDIT: If you plan on keeping vista, activate the UAC, i guess you're keeping it deactivated.
I think that even with administrator previleges, the OS denies some actions

I had this problem, you need to enable UAC then go to the folder and open properties and under the "Security" tab you have to edit all users to have full control.

Vista is a bloated resource-hog.
Want VISTA? Just remove half your RAM in XP, and install all the crap you can find that "protects your files" (norton file protection for instance), then install Windowblinds and find the most bloated theme (preferrably 70Megs big) and make it translucent.
They planned on some really good features for VISTA, but never included them... which is funny, as that might actually have compelled more people to install it.
I also think fisk should be unbanned.

Under Properties, go to security then advanced, there administrator should have all options allowed. And UAC must be off...

Thanks, that worked. I had UAC off because it prompts you on every little thing you do and apparently in the beta releases it prompts you on even more things. W/e, it looks like I'll be reinstalling XP.

Windows Vista is garbage, it's just as bad as WindowsME. Perhaps when a ServicePack is released that is complete, it will be better. Right now alot of my hardware is not compatible with Vista, so i'll have to either upgrade the hardware or wait forcompanies to make a driver update, which i doubt will happen lol.
