I think it has potential like Dungeon Siege did. Such a great game and so much replayability, but the lack of online may hurt it.

Noot very good imo.. The controls are a bit iffy and the game doesnt seem that deep. The artistic style of the cut scene and the menus are very nice but the game feels "meh".

There is only one class and you spec either blood (melee), soul (caster), whatever(summuning). The spells in the different trees are few and they seem alot alike. Also it seems to be "Ice Bolt" -> "Improved Icebolt" -> "Improved improved icebolt (now with doom)" and so on. One thing thats a bit cool is that you can cast spells using keyboard combos.

Very average and 5 years to late. Saw better freeware games than this. British accent of voice actors takes getting used to if you do not like to read a lot of blahblah. 65/100 (but only 1h of playing)

Skipping to next one...

+ Great to hear decent accents and not the usual nasal, whiny teenage American ones

+ So far i like the atmosphere of the game.

+fairly detailed and spells are ok.

- Controls and camera are bloody awful! I'd expect this on a console not the Pc.

Only had 20 mins to try it out, so above subject to change Smile

7/10 so far Smile

omg ... tried this yesterday evening for a couple an hour ... that's one of the worst control system ever seen in an action-rpg, i mean:
"primary configuration"
- you use wasd keys to move around
- you use the mouse to target enemies
- you input combos with the movement keys (!!!) while you move with the same ones (!!!) to activate abilities
Result: horrible, not even to be taken in consideration.
"secondary configuration"
- like the above but using up to three abilities with the three mouse buttons
Result: nearly acceptable, but it's still very problematic the change of abilities. I mean, i used lmouse for melee staff attack, rmouse for ranged staff attack, middle mouse for a spell. In the middle of combat i wanted to use another ability ... argh ... option one is re-setup every time one of the mouse buttons, option two is pressing an Fx (1-Cool key to fire the spell ... unfortunately all of this while using your fingers to move around with the wasd keys ...
Ok you could just stay with a standard basic attack (the melee when mana goes low) and two spells to be activated with two mouse buttons ... umpf i suppose developers never saw and played games like diablo 2 or titan quest ...

Near final rating: 5/10

I'll give it a second try this evening, eventually i'll post an updated opinion later.

One last info ... another game of a nearly infinite serie of "xp-(vista)" only that work flawlessly on windows 2000 too.

Have been playing a bit more ... i have to admit that throwing completely away the combo thing, customizing some keys, getting a bit used to the camera and accepting to have only 2-3 spells available at once in combat (they could have added the possibility to use the mouse central button wheel to change spells instead of zooming in and out) ... well this little game becomes pretty enjoyable, not a diablo 2 heir but worth trying out !

I think it deserves a more than sufficient rating.

@ joe potato: personally i don't like the witcher, it's just my personal opinion eh, it's just that the combat system irritates me too much and i hate melee only chars (and even 90% ones), but as i told, it's only a personal taste
