Game world is a unique universe called Tarr. In Tarr there is no light and dark sides, no right and guilty. It is the world where all the races have united against one enemy, where the struggle is not for resources, but for life. For the life of the dying galaxy.
Battlecruiser Talestra – the flagship of Aliiance Forces – was sent in a remote star system to guard some science groups exploring a long ago abandoned city of ancient race. But owing to a break down in its hyperengine Talestra comes in the wrong part of galaxy. And now the crew has to make a long way to their home: through the worlds populated with alien races, through deserted, desolate systems and sectors controlled by the main enemy of the galaxy - De'Khete.
The main character is a pilot of elite fighters squad, which is a part of Talestra’s combatant forces. Together with other crew members player will have to overcome all the severities fallen to the lost cruiser’s lot. All the pilots of player’s squad are controlled by AI: they follow the player’s ship and help in battles. Moreover companions report about their maneuvers and give advice on combat tactics. But companions aren’t just soulless dummies but self-dependent persons every of which has its own point of view on life and fights. Only acting as a part of a team you can reach your goal.
Between missions player can change its ship’s equipment. For this needs it is provided with a set of various blocks and subsystems – hulls, engines, cannons, rocket launchers. For the services in battle player gets new ranks and opportunities to serve in other Talestra departments, what gives player an access to the hangars with new equipment and weaponry.
Interesting and diverse missions, detailed storyline with intrigues and unexpected turns, dynamic battles in deep space and in planetary orbits, dizzy flights – all this creates an unforgettable feeling of presence in game. This project is not people play, it’s a whole world you will live and fight within to break away from the depths of hostile space and to come back to your native land.

got 48% in review @ Ag.ru (best russian gaming site). weak storyline, repetitive missions, can't be compared to Descent Freespace which it tries to be a clone of.
"Only one country can destroy NATO in 40 minutes - it's Russia"
I got a problem with it too,but a different one,I suspect it being a Vista issue, since the russian clone worked fine with XP.
I start the game, paradox intro video plays for a few seconds and then the game freezes. Setting the compability mode to Win XP has no affect, but setting it to Win98 works. Videos play fine...almost,they keep lagging and the game laggs too.
Funky...maybe it's time to install XP again or try to fiddle with codecs to see if that works.
Official response about the video/cut scene problem on vista:
Quote:
We have been informed about an issue with the movies/cut scenes on Windows Vista set up on multi core processors. We expect an update to be available by the end of this week, the time when the game will be available in the box as well. The patch will be available through both Gamersgate and Paradox.
anyone else have problems with the main menu? i just get empty boxes with no writing on were the options should be then it crashes, also the videos play like crap in the game but perfect in a video player, whats up with that...
Yeah, had that problem with vista, but the patch fixed those. Then when I tried to actually start the game,it would crash with some weird error. Uninstalling my codecs fixed that. Now it runs fine.
I also tried it with XP and had the exact same problem as you,but didn't find a way it could be fixed...I'd advice you to check your codecs for starters.
After reading the forums,it seems it can't handle too high resolutions, try setting lower res to fix the font issue(try non WS res also).
Well it's not crap like vodka says, but it has some problems.
Translation is one of them. Some of the text is poorly translated and make no sense, but the voice acting is good...I'm just wondering what the voice actors were thinking when reading the lines.
There are no npc's to talk to between missions, other than the tech guy who gives you advice on what hulls etc to mount.
Setting your ship with different hulls, weapons etc is nice. you only got 1 ship, but by adding different hulls, engines and others changes its appearance.
Now the missions themself are quite repetetive(as you would expect),you either escort or seek and destroy...mostly seek and destroy.
As far I see, each mission is divided in to three or four sections where the game automatically saves,so if you die you start from the last section.
Graphically it's good,at least I like it.
Oh and there are few bugs here and there.
Overall it's not as good as I expected, but still it's fun nonetheless. Good enough to quench your space sim thirst until something better comes along.
Tarr_Chronicles-FLT it's out but doesn't wotk
Or at least for me, crashes after 10 sec in main menu.
Maibe a crack problem ?
Tarr.Chronicles.GERMAN-SiLENTGATE works ok you can try if the german crack works with the eng, finished this game today and i must say it a nice arcade shooter
Battlecruiser Talestra has its way home hindered by mysterious and deadly
aliens, desolate solar systems and most deadly species in the Galaxy,
De-Hattae, when it finds itself in the remote corner of the Galaxy after
suffering hyper space engine malfunction.
Tarr Chronicles is set in the middle of a war between the human Alliance and
the De-Hattae - strange creatures that have been changed by the Darkness. The
Darkness advances; the populated systems, ravaged by the war with De-Hattae,
turn desolate. The forces of the once powerful human Empire retreat to the
far corners of the galaxy. The player is a pilot in an elite squad of space
fighters. They are stationed onboard a Talestra battlecruiser, a human
flagship. It has been sent to a distant star system where several research
labs are trying to find a way to turn the tide of the war.
A player and his companions will have to overcome many obstacles and face all
the dangers lurking in deep space.

This game aint a Freelancer clone, it's much much crappier, it has 0 story, the gameplay is not just repetitive, it's RSD waiting to happen and there is crap all change except some small armor/weapon changes.
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
