I think it was released in French and German under Emergency 2 name or something like that. Screenshots look the same.

Anyway, quite a good game, lot of gameplay bug, but it's enjoyable.

The A.I. is dreadful, the pathfinding really takes you back to the early RTS days. But overall, quite enjoyable.

Is it just me or do the people walk really slow Confused

Doctor: "Like there is a person who is just about dead over there. Lets walk really really slowly to his half dead body and hopefully by time we get there he is dead so we can go to lunch early"
Stretcher Guys: "Yeah ok"

Same goes with the firefighters taking forever to put out a fire, I could piss on the fire and put it out quicker then 4 of them with a firehose each Rolling Eyes
I know you can make the game speed faster but it still doesnt make the rescuers run/move quicker they still just walk except the game speed is quicker.

Never tried earlier sequels, on the main map it is boring but the missions are ok, the campaign seems long, currently at mission 12. Some random CTD, adviser videos stuttering, etc...

You get upgrades later as you progress in campaign which makes the people walk faster.

Anybody had any problems with this on vista?

I'm running vista ultimate. When I start the game, i get the black screen almost as though it's gonna load up and the back to the desktop and nothing. Tried all the compatibility options but no joy. Confused

Sometimes your the pigeon....sometimes your the statue.

This game is not as awful as I thought it'd be (so far.)
I still feel like these games are being made fer kids, but what the hell, who cares.

Workin perfect in Vista Ultimate here.
Check your drivers.. maybe you don't got the latest graphic drivers.

Worked out that it was my resolution settings which was causing the game/people to run in slow motion.

I have a 22" widescreen monitor but the game does not support widescreen only 1280x1024. So i had to enable the resolution scaling in my video card settings so it doesnt make the game strech to fit my native resolution size (1680x1050).

Runs like a dream now Smile

You can edit the resolution values within em4.cfg, use notepad otherwise the game will crash at launching. Smile

This game is a weirdfest...
People are lying on the floor dying and the firefighters/doctors etc. are walking around like they're in the friggin bahamas.

The game looks half-decent and there are barely any options to tweak graphics properly.
I guess it's fun for some, pun for others...I'm afraid the latter applies for me.

Im having a problem with this, it works for a while and then all suddently when im about to start it i only get a black screen and then back to desktop. I then need to re-install it to make it work again.

Maybe give us a bit of your specs, xp or vista, etc.
Also try to look in the event viewer application log (administrative tools) for the error, this should give you some clues on what is wrong when it crashes.
I had some CTD with this game, sometimes when loading a game, also a corrupted em4.cfg give the error you describe, make a copy of this file and try to use it when your launch error occurs.

Ok, i have a:
Intel P4 3,2Gz
2048gb DDR
X800XT with latest Omegadrivers
Windows XP Sp2.

My application log shows nothing at all.
Anybody have a working CFG thats working and wanna share it?

Yesterday it worked by reinstalling but not this time. strange.
