|

So... Lately, while playing games like Bioshock demo, World of warcraft and even Silent Storm, graphical errors have started to show. In Bioshock: http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/1605/toinenbugzz7.jpg but wow and silent storm behave similarly.
Now, I think this can't be overheating, because the GPU temp is around 60 celsius.. But EVEREST shows that GPU VRM temp goes over 70 celsius when these errors start to pop up. I have tried lowering my GPU's clocks, removing side panel and changing my drivers, but the problem persists.
Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong? Is my card broken? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Oh and here is my specs:
Intel C2D 6400 2.4GHz
2 gigs of ram
Club 3D Radeon x1900xt 512 (with Zalman VF900 CU fan)
Windows XP with SP2

does look like a problem with your gfx card. try taking it out of your machine and see if its fan is dustcovered or such.
Hardware: Ryzen 3700x, B450 MSI Gaming Pro carbon AC, GTX1080, 32 GB 3200 Mhz cas 14, 256 EVO SSD, 1 TB EVO SSD and 4 TB HDD.

Yeah it must comes from the gfx card.
I have a 7900 GT SC CO with a Zalman VF900 CU heatsink and i also start to have a similar problem, on my model it seems that it is related to samsung defective memory modules on the early produced 7900 cards, maybe yours is more related to this gpu heatsink/fan which does not cover well the memory modules. Try to touch the blue memory sinks to see if they go -too- hot after some atitools 3d test/gaming session.
Ty jeez i will soon RMA mine (evga).

Yeah I had a similar problem with a graphics card I had ages ago. The card was dying. I bought a new card.

Yes because a Bioshock fix will sort out a problem with WOW and Silent Storm.

yeah try uninstalling card completely then reinstalling new drivers... i had this exact same problem on anothe rpc a while back, though it WAS related to overheating, but reinstalling the drivers is the only thing i can suggest if your SURE it has nothing to do with the card overheating.

I downloaded a program called Driver Cleaner Pro, and used it to clean all gfx card drivers that might have stayed after removing them, and afterwards installed the newest Catalysts and Ati tray tools.. I put 4x AA and 4x AF on by default in ATT in both Direct3D and OpenGL, and the problem seems to be gone for now, GPU VRM temps are 62 c tops after a WoW session, and gfx card itself 52 celsius. Bioshock doesn't show any glitching either.
I'm having this wtf feeling right now, not knowing for sure if something is broken or was it the drivers or something... Gotta keep observing the situation over the weekend and play some graphic-intesive games and if the problems come back, I'm taking the card to the store on monday.
