Yes I know this is a dupe but other one was nothing but a flame war and no template

Overlord

  • Official web page: LINK
  • Publisher: Codemasters
  • Developer: Triumph Studios
  • Genre: Adventure
  • Release date: US: June 26, 2007 / Europe: June 28, 2007 / Australia: June 30, 2007
  • Story/Description:
    Quote:

Taking control of a mysterious figure that has inherited the legacy of the long-dead evil Overlord, the player emerges near death from the ruins of the old Overlord's Dark Tower. Only the player's actions will determine if they will rise to become the new all-powerful Overlord; it's all up to how bad they want to be in order to succeed ... evil or really evil! With a dark sense of humor, the game immerses players in twisted parodies of classic fantasy stories and characters. In a unique twist, players will have control over an army of an army of Minions that will use their unique skills to fetch, fight and die for their new Overlord. Throughout the game players will actively control a horde of these gremlin-like creatures that will follow every bidding no matter how whimsical or life threatening it may be.

Ya, it looks like alot of fun but damn, it being codemasters I can see it having some bugs that ruin gameplay.

Translated with goggle

Code:
Already on 28 June the unusual Action Adventure Overlord for Xbox 360 and PC is to appear. Is is so considerable thereby fitting, because according to rumors the developers are pushed of the triumph of Studios up-to-date to place their newest work as fast as possible completely. QuicksaveJunkie.com wants to have experienced that Publisher Codemasters reaches through at present hard, so that the release date can be kept.

The problem is however that Overlord did not reach still long the gold status, Codemasters the incomplete play into the trade to however rather bring wants, in order to thus achieve the own “financial goals”. Allegedly the play is only in the “alpha stage”, which might be removed still far from a completion. It remains hoping only that it concerns here a false alarm. But who should confirm this rumor? Codemasters would surely hardly admit such an action and would not be ready the developers probably to express itself for it.

To the memory: With Overlord one controls a whole army of fieser Gnobe, which make everything for you. They murders, plündern and destroy what want you. However are also not this so-called min ion the cleversten fighters. Overlord attaches particularly much importance on black humor, Fantasy plate and naturally Action. Besides one may be in the play so correctly BAD. Parallel to the classical author Dungeon Keeper are certainly not coincidental.

WTF !!!! another Gothic 3

On one hand I do want the game, but I do not want an unfinished game, then I'd rather wait, it's not as if theres a shortage of games anyway.
Typical Codemasters, they were good during the Amiga time, but they have since then fallen to the same level of EA.

The console version will probably end up being more polished, the PC one being released unfinished as usual. I hardly play anything on the PC any more, having to constantly wait for the next patch to make games playable as intended is so frustrating, guess we'll have to add this to the list.

oh cmon, you know how hard it is to defeat trolls. Damnit didn't you ever play Baldurs Gate? You need Fire or Acid to kill them after knocking them down.

ANYwho, Is dungeon keeper worth playing, I never played it sadly Sad (don't hurt me) and people say it's just like this

If I recall, last time I played Dungeon Kepper II, there was a point in the game where it crashed every single time and it was far into the game. Haven't tried it again since but that is a sweet game.
Some of the videos are pretty funny.

Looks cool. My only concern is it seems you only get to control silly imps. Some healer imps, fire throwing imps, melee imps.

It dosnt look like you will be able to get big demons or evil trolls as minions. (Like in Dungeon Keeper, you could get all sort of monsters)

But i could be wrong, but so far i've only seen imps

nice to know there are different camera views but this trailer allready shows the first bugs - your minions didn`t attack the big creature and one of those minions just froze when he picked the treasure after they killed this big guy
