Tiscali Games has uncovered word that a Mafia 2 announcement is in the offing, having discovered a ratings listing for a trailer that will show off the game at the Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany. A subsequent post on IGN says to expect an announcement next week, while a post on Computer and Video Games suggests that the sequel to Illusion Softworks' life-of-crime game may be officially announced as early as today. Illusion actually revealed they were at work on a Mafia sequel back in late 2003, but nothing has been mentioned of this project since then.

Hmm i heard Illusion Softworks is working on game that is not a sequel of Mafia nor Hidden & Dangerous 2

Elite frontier and Mafia are the ´best games ever made PERIOD!!! now let's hope they announce mafia2 and I'll be a happy boy...

great news...... the first part was one of the best games i've ever played with an awesome story!!!
heheh, and i never had trouble with the race, i'm pretty sure i finished it without patching...

Yeah, I tried some times too, but no patch...Never used one and never will... In my opinion, the best game in the PC history. Cheers !!!

to me, mafia seems a little over rated..
or maybe I played it expecting so much more due to all the praises given by people around the internet.
the only thing I hated about it was driving to and from missions.
you have 2 choices: go below the speed limit and waste a long time driving
or go above the speed limit and risk starting over because you get caught or killed by the police.
I usually went for the latter so maybe that's what ruined the game for me...

Haha that pretty funny. I installed Mafia two days ago after me and some friends had been having a mobster-movie-marathon
The Godfather-triology, Goodfellas and Casino. After that you just have to play Mafia

Mafia was a great game. What I hope to get from a sequel, is the same atmosphere, but a bigger game and more freedom.

Mafia is up there among 3-4 other great masterpieces of games (System Shock 2 etc.), the news about a sequel is awesome. Been waiting for one since that mention in 2003.
