you can stilll learn music by playing songs. You start to pick up on teh scales they use, what notes when the speed and the construction of those notes.

I did in 91, and its worth a lot more now. Gibson FTW!
I play my own version of a real GH game. Go to backing tracks sites, and jam your parts. If its grooving, you are scoring, if not ,you can hear the shit sucking and you fail. I dont need a game to tell me if it sounds right or not. And if you can bust out tab in real time, you should be gearing up for that big gig this weekend. Standard sheet music is for real time playing, tab is a guide, for playing by ear in real time. Ive plodded through some tab, and like realized, hey this is G minor penatonic, and the whole train of thought shifts back to good ole music theory, and becomes old hat instantly.

I hate gibsons personally except the voodoo series. Their by far the best around I just don't like them.

This guitar could realize the full potential of Guitar Rising.
This
But Im weary of new tech, and some signature models, cause if it doesnt catch on or the artist losses there moxy status, the value will drop. I spent an hour trying to determine on an auction site, if this Washburn X- series was the X-10, $200 new, or up to the X-50 $1500 new. Cause not enough info was given. Gibson does not make budget guitars, period.
They make Epiphones, and recently been adding "by Gibson" in the fine print. But If the Gibson name is living large on that headstock, you have the best they have to offer, period.

This upcoming game got me thinking. I found a guitar USB cable so i can hook up a guitar on PC but im wondering if theres an app that will do the same as an amp..so that i dont have to buy an amp and those overdrive pedal/preset boxes cause they are fuckin expensive.
I feel like open up my old tablature chart books that i have and try some of my favorite songs i used to play back in high school. So if someone know a good app easy to use that can do that, let me know so i can go grab it
Thanks

This isn't a original concept at all. I played a arcade like game at a tech expo when I was a kid that taught how to use the guitar and play certain songs... This was a good 13 years ago. Still at least its not as worthless as guitar hero and had educational and healthy hobbie value.

Yes there is! Dude ,google for it there are lots of them. Also, get a good mixing prog, like Cubase, Acid, etc. And Toontrak Easydrummer plug in, dont forget the add ons. This is the best drum prog ever. You will be playing your ass off! Set up a drum beat and off you go. Its really only good for jamming live with the beats unless you buy a good recording card. That because of latency will set everything offtime . I run just from my efffects box line out to cpu line in. I dont fire up my big amps, cept for playing live.

Can you give me a app name? Nothing fancy cause i just want to play from time to time with my old Tablature sheets i got from Guitar Magazine back in the early 90's. I wont Jam, record, mix. I just dont want to buy an Amp and overdrive predals.
