Konami issued a press release, specifying that Silent Hill 5 -- which is actually the sixth game in the popular horror games series -- is now called Silent Hill: Homecoming. Konami also officially confirmed that the game is hitting European soil during September 2008, with no mention of a US date at this time.

Some Japanese developers are far behind in the technology.. just saying.

Squirrely: Now come on y'all. We can't waste time arguing. There could still be survivors out there. We need to hunt them down, and kill them.
Beary: How about we kill them, and then rape their bodies so we can use their blood as lubricant.

I remember playing Silent Hill on the psx when I was young, that game really freaked me out. Walking around a deserted town in the dark.... (goosebumps) hehe

Old gameplay, but why change it? This is an absolutely fantasic game, finished it already on the PS2.

I don't get it, how many Silent Hill games have been rated high in mainstream reviews? I'm not surprised, It's an awesome franchise, and I'll give it a try anyway.

Its not possible, no Silent Hill game can recieve such a low score. Every game in the series so far has been 8.5+. I'll wait for an average % before condemning this one.

It is possible, you have to keep in mind this game is made by americans and not the japanese konami guys who made all the previous games (with the exception of silent hill origins on the psp)

So yeah, it's definitely possible that this is just some mediocre horror game that's just not silent hill anymore.

Yeah i'm not surprised, the dev aren't the same. I think the original devs are focusing on SH6 while the US team rushed SH5 to have some money to do SH6 and to take their time.

Silent Hill: Homecoming has been refused classification in Australia. This means that OFLC board members have decided the game contains material that may be of a particularly confronting or offensive nature.

Way to go! OFLC are so progressive, didn't you know video games are only for kids under 10 Rolling Eyes

I finished the 1 , 2 and 3. But also couldn't get into the 4th at the time. I will give this shot just because I like the franchise.
