Sign up as a Pinkerton Road CSG member, and you'll get all of the awesome games we produce for one year*. The CSG model will help our studio survive financially so that we can make the kinds of games that YOU and WE want to play (not what some big publisher’s marketing department has decided will be the next big hit).
Quote:
If we meet our Kickstarter goal the season will include:
* Lola and Lucy’s Big Adventure (a kid’s e-book/game written by Jane that we’ve funded ourselves as a bootstrap studio project. It’s nearly finished and will be released Summer 2012.)
* An all new original adventure game by Jane in the vein of Gabriel Knight and Gray Matter (no pun intended) on PC download, due approximately Mar 2013.
If we raise $600K or more the season will ALSO include:
* A second Jane Jensen adventure game on PC download, due approximately June 2013. We have a white board full of concepts that have been crawling around in Jane’s brain for years. Or it might be another of the 3 concepts below -- if it gets enough of your votes.
Concepts to possibly be turned to games:
- Gray Matter 2
- Moebius
- Anglophile Adventure
- For $16, you get one of the games they'll make this "season", whatever this might be (eg Gray Matter 2).
- For $50, you get all (actually: 2) the games they'll make this "season", that is if they make more than one (as stated above they'll make a second one if they manage to raise $600k)
Also you get early beta access etc.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
Who said that the point and click veterans are dead?! Now, if we could get some more stuff, like Space Quest, King's Quest, Quest for Glory, Police Quest and such....
they ain't doing that great, not even 20k by now,hm.. I guess another takedown like situation, sure, there is still 44 days to go,but it goes really slow... hopefully after shadow and Wasteland 2 hype,it will get enough push to the 300k.
Comparing herself to Dan Brown is not exactly setting the goal posts very high, and I didn't think much of their promo video, about as original as a brown paper bag.
But heck, I suppose I shouldn't complain, I'm not putting any money down for this but if others want to support it, then that is their decision.

How so? The kickstarter only says "Jane is known for games with complex, dark plotlines ala Dan Brown." What is false about that quote? Some of his books are excellent and some of her stories were as well. So what's the problem? Or are you just another bandwagon riding person that just happens to hate whatever is popular or mainstream for no other reason other than it's the "cool" thing to do?
Well, it sort of makes sense considering "Gabriel Knight 3" was about the deity of Christ... kind of like Dan Brown's book. Granted I actually liked GK3 better.
since im a huge fan of all jensens games i can hardly wait for new games...though the part about beeing fun and tablet etc etc kinda makes me think she wont make any GK type games, u know with the dark atmoshpere the fantastic scripts etc...i hope they start with a remake of GK...loved those series...

I have read all Dan Brown novels and none of them are excellent. I have no knowledge of this Jane's abilites, though.

she's definitely no slouch, GK 1 and 2 were both very good, 3 was ok not good though, transition to 3D did it no favors, honestly though the first was the best, it was the only gabriel knight adventure that had that sense of overarching mystery, the total dumbfoundedness of coming to grips with just what he's got himself into, i won't say the story was bad, but i think jane kind of used up all of her A material for the first, it was still good but just didn't have the same effect when you knew what to expect, to some degree anyway.
oh and, i may or may not be able to pledge for this one, LSL remake and possible SQ remake (assuming it's crowd funded) both take priority, but i want to.
Gray Matter was quite good and certainly very atmospheric adventure game. She is trusted

Sin317-"im 31 years old and still surprised at how much shit comes out of my ass actually ..."
SteamDRM-"Call of Duty is the symbol of the true perfection in every aspect. Call of Duty games are like Mozart's/Beethoven's symphonies"
deadpoetic-"are you new to the cyberspace?"
This better get done. All her games are masterpieces in storytelling.
Personally I'd prefer to see some more from Gray Matter storyline, but commercially I think going with new IP is better in this case. Gray Matter unfortunately didn't manage to establish itself well enough.
Wow, what a blast from the past. The guy still looks almost the way he did back then!
Though, not sure how he is connected to Jane right now, the video didn't explain that.
Summary: They received a funding offer from a publisher. If they reach $300 000, they will be making Moebius + "Mystery Game X". At $16 & $30 tiers one has to choose between them, at $50+ one gets both games.
I think its getting done ether way. Its just the question of how successful it'll be. I'm afraid that vague four thousand backers isn't enough to pronounce it at successful project, they'll still need to sell a lot of games to cover their own investment into the company of another 300k. And I'm guessing developers won't be able to live on kickstarters alone.
Oh, and If that mystery game really is GK4 with Dean Erickson, I'm making extra donation.
