I think they changed something in the system.

If you're using Firefox, there's an extension that can download Youtube movies, an it still works.

BTW, good to see you're still here, haven't seen you in a long time.

In case you were looking for a temporary alternative, I came across this only about a week ago.

http://vixy.net/

The site can be outrageously slow sometimes, but in comes in handy quite a bit for me.

I did install the firefox video downloaer, but it still didnt work..It shows this
[youtube.com] Error: Not a valid URL (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rNVWY0ewk8&mode=related&search=). Visit our web to know in detail what video sites are supported. So weird...!

@lezdothisthang

Thanks alot, this site might come in handy one day...

@swingman

My hero, you saved me...
Very Happy thanks. I downloaded it and it works perfect...No more stupid FLV-files only AVI's...But there is a little problem tho, a 6min clip takes 36MB... too much...

You can set the resolution and codec of the saved avi files to get the desired size. Heck even the lowest settings will be good enough for the videos on youtiles. Razz

If you want to grab movie from youtube, googlevideo or any other live stream WITHOUT a software, you can use this method:

On XP:

Go to: C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
Right click-> Arrange icons by size-> go to the bottom and the biggest file/s are the movies you've just streamed. Copy them to your desktop and enjoy.

On Vista:

Go to: C:\Users\Your User Name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files
Right click-> Sort by size-> go to the bottom and the biggest file/s are the movies you've just streamed. Copy them to your desktop and enjoy.
